The place just reopened on May 4, 2022 after being closed for a few months. Great place located in the middle of the quiet Alta Vista neighborhood. Serving a variety of pub style eats. The food and drinks are priced cheaper than other places; 5$ beers are a rare find nowadays. Patio seats available.
Great spot for drinks and apps in a quiet neighbourhood. They have a variety of foods on their menu - hamburgers, wings, shawarma and pizzas. The fried zucchini was 10/10! Comes with a very generous portion of crispy and delicious zucchini sticks in a basket with dips. My partner and I will definitely be going back for those zucchini sticks and beer ! Their shawarma platters were decently priced but was disappointing. I wouldn’t order again. My partner got the mixed plate and the beef meat that was on it isn’t like the beef you’d usually get at other shawarma places - it tasted like Mixed kebab meat kafta which threw us off. The shawarma game in Ottawa is quite competitive and the bar is set pretty high so if you’re an avid shawarma eater, I’d go elsewhere for it. Their liver and onions was good. It was on special for $9.95 or so and comes with a choice of fries or mashed. Generous portions of liver and mash with lots and lots of gravy. Comes with a small bowl of coleslaw which was delicious. Service was great. The waitresses are very friendly and attentive. Great atmosphere and ambience. Their patio is super cozy to sit and chill. They recently added some fire stones to some tables to keep you warm.
O'Briens Corner 1785 Kilborn mini mall. O'Brien just installed a brand new patio complete with a brand new canvas awning to keep you out of the Sun and to keep you out of the rain. I've enclosed some pictures. Everything set up to continue to meet covid protocols. Last night we stopped by for pizza and it was absolutely delicious and highly recommended. I was also told that starting as early as this weekend they're going to start serving breakfast again starting at 8 a.m.. Let's support our local restaurants. Brian and his team are great community minded people with great food to serve you. What a great place to eat. The food is delicious. I have been here for breakfast awesome breaky lunch and dinner, the service is excellent, the place is very clean...you can also get shawarma right next door for eat in or takeout. Lots of free parking. Very cozy. Also if you're looking for some really nice garden plants and flowers for around the house Brian has set up a really nice display of flowers for you to choose from. O'Briens is in the plaza where the TD bank used to be on Kilborn 1 block east of Featherstone.
Finally a good pub within walking distance of my house, this place has great food, great prices and a great atmosphere. Very nice patio and it's good to come in for a Guinness as they have it on tap. Specifically the wings, shawarma platter, and the fish and chips are amazing, they're all a good deal for how much you get and the food is still so good.
It's a newer addition to the neighbourhood, but the atmosphere is awesome, it feels just like a little hole in the wall pub, but in the best way possible. The servers are fantastic, my husband and I came in late one night we didn't realise it closed at 10pm but the waitress was super sweet and accommodating! Everything we've eaten there has been really good, and they have a nice selection of beers on tap. If I could critique anything, I wish they had more seating. You have a choice of a collection of small booths or chairs at the bar. I've never had to wait long at a for a table, but I've never been there during a dinner rush either. If you're in the neighbourhood, you should definitely it check out!
Quickly, order the pizza! It is the striking thing about this corner pub. This neighbourhood mainstay is where the townies in Alta Vista meet. A parking lot patio made of wood, a decent beer selection, and all the usual pub food. Families and friends come here.
A friend and I stopped in at O' Brian's on Fri. for the first time. Not being from the immediate area, we weren't familiar with it my son, who's girlfriend lives nearby recommended it. We will definitely be back: good food and wonderful service! it but we'll definitely be back
Decent food, decent waitresses. Nice patio and a decent selection of beers. Love having this place near by. I hope they make it through the pandemic. Also if you are there make sure to get the shawarma as the owners Lebanese and makes some amazing shawarma. Thank you O’Brien’s
The two egg breakfast was good though the low price of $5.95 is offset by the $1.50 charge for refills of the mediocre coffee. Our waitress did not bring menus, forgot part of our order and was seen at one point on a bar stool cuddling up to a guy with a Starbucks cup. We wish we liked the place better because it's local, but we won't hurry back.
Had lunch here today with two friends. Dishes were pizza, fish and chips, and the chicken shwarma platter. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Service was great and the server was attentive and fast. Highly recommend.
