Let’s get this out of the way first. O’BOY is fantastic! Ok, now for the nitty-gritty! The food is absolutely delicious! Friends and I made a reservation on a Friday night and we ordered variety so that we could all taste and share a little bit of everything. The Rolled Omelet is light and fluffy, sweet and salty I think they call that flavour ‘umami’. The All New O’Steak is delicious for those of us who eat red meat but the highlight for me was the sauce dumpling that comes with it. It just made the dish so much better. The Poké Bowl was delicious with the actually-spicy Sweet-Chilli Sauce. But the best savoury dish we had that night was the Soy Salmon. Three pieces of fish dressed with fish eggs that just melted into your mouth and down your throat. Accompanied by a wasabi cream that could very easily become my first-choice for dressing. We couldn’t get enough. Dessert is required. No, seriously. Don’t cheat yourself out of dessert. Because that cereal milk bingsu is the stuff of legends. Sweet and light with cereal crumble for texture. Sure, my friends’ black sesame tiramisu and cereal cake were light and airy and delicious but the bingsu was the reason we were fighting for the plate and making inappropriate dinner sounds at the table. It goes without saying but the staff was super friendly and attentive. Will be returning to O’BOY on a bi-weekly basis.
I gave this restaurant 5 Stars because from the time me and my daughter walked through the door the waiter greeted us and he was very polite and also he made sure our food was ready fast because we had only a 30 minute break for lunch before having to go back to the theater so he was great and the food was also very good. My daughter is a vegetarian so she ordered the vegetable dumplings and I got the chicken dumplings. Everything was perfect and like I said the waiter was awesome.
This place is so good! Found it while traveling for work on Christmas Eve and couldn't have done better. Food is really tasty and the desert was wonderful. Really friendly service and great atmosphere.
Found this place while wandering around Providence, I had the braised Chinese Pork. It was very good a little salty but enjoyable. Service was great.
I wish I took photos because the food was so beautiful! What a lovely and cozy place. Everything about it- the food, the ambiance, and our fabulous waiter was simply delightful. The food was inventive and delicious. The gyoza and scallion pancakes were especially amazing. I think the prices were reasonable, especially considering it feels like a much more expensive place. I tried something I normally don't like pork fat and absolutely loved it. I will definitely be back!
My boyfriend and I visited O'BOY for the first time in December and were extremely impressed with the quality of the food. They seemed a little understaffed at the time, but it didn't effect us at all, we got our food quickly, the presentation was beautiful and the taste delicious. We both thought it was some of the best food we'd ever had in Providence. We have been back a few more times since then, and have never been disappointed. They have gotten more staff, the cocktails are always amazing, on par with The Eddy, and they have recently expanded their menu. I would highly recommend O'BOY as a date spot, a cool place to share plates with friends/family, or even just to grab a drink at their big beautiful bar!
We only stopped in at the end of the night, a drink and some dessert, so I cannot speak on the entire menu; however, what we had while we were there was phenomenal. Excellent cocktail and a delightful dessert cheesecake. The atmosphere was appealing and the staff were helpful and friendly. I don't know exactly when it opened, but it had the feeling that it wasn't too long ago. I look forward to going again.
To start off with the good part, my wife's meal of Bibimbap was very good as was the can of craft beer I had. First off my wife has celiac so she told the server,y wife then asked for a ginger beer thinking it was an alcoholic ginger beer...nope it was a beer with ginger flavor. Then after we sat there for 30 or so min the server literally runs to the kitchen... yup she forgot to put our food order in which then takes another 30 min to come out, keep in mind we ordered raw dishes so not sure what the kitchen was doing once they got the order. Then once our food come out my meal was missing the sauce...it was so so bland. I asked for the sauce and it came but it didn't help the meal that much. Over all the redeeming qualities we're the prices, $3 sides $6 apps and $11 entrees. Besides that the service was amateur and the food was meh. Definitely did not live up to the many great reviews we saw that brought us there.
I recently revisited this place to get few drinks and I noticed that they got a new food menu now! I tried some of the new menus and they were absolutely satisfying! Highly recommended for any occasions and I definitely would go back soon with more people!
Oh, boy. This place was a disaster. I think everyone here was working at half speed. The bartender was probably the slowest person I've ever seen mix a drink. This guy took 20 minutes to pour a standard off-menu cocktail -- and he was clearly reading a book to figure out how to make it. And it was not what I asked for. The poor hostess. She was super nice, very helpful, and trying to hide her frustration with the situation. But there was no way she could fix it. She just rode along, apologizing the whole time. The kitchen took an hour to make ramen. There were probably 12 people eating in the restaurant at one time. Does it really take one hour to make a bowl of ramen? It all started unraveling when everyone at the bar complained at once, getting itchy for the same reason. And then, over an hour after we sat down, the ramen came out. And it was mediocre. Just, meh. I would never go back. Super disappointing.
