I hired Northguard, cut a new opening and install both a new door and a new window. Total cost about $6500.00  Couple months after the install we noticed the door was not closing properly as it was making contact with the frame in the top corner. Then we noticed the window had a bow in the top sill. Now we cannot even open the window the way it is designed because of the deformation of the frame. Also the installers did not do a proper flashing job which i had to temporarily fix with foil tape. Note that it was their job to cut out the window, doorway and frame and insulate the area. Worth mentioning that the installers also took tools from my place. A demo hammer that was returned within the first week and a crowbar that was never returned to me .....  I have been trying to contact Northguard for the past year to no avail. They say someone will contact me but i am still waiting. I sent off the email with pictures to their customer service... still waiting...... Next i anticipate they tell me the warranty period is over and its not their problem.  So to sum up my experience with Northguard: Window and door poorly installed, with cold air/moisture infiltrating the flashing, no insulation around window or door, missing crowbar no support from the head office and i paid $6500.00 for this service...
