I visited during their Canada Day event. The model trains were cool, and seeing the inside of actual historical Ontario traincars was also interesting. I never got to see inside the building, as it was closed. Overall, a nice place to stop and spend 30 minutes if you're in or around Capreol :
Had a wonderful visit on their last few days open. Such an incredible area with neat history to see and touch. Loved being able to go on the trains and view the artifacts on display.
It was awesome to visit this museum! The fact that you can walk around in the train cars is amazing and the model railway display is incredible I highly recommend this museum to all interested in trains!
Great spot for an afternoon visit. I'd suspect it should take about 2 hours to normally go through the trains, house and historic police / fire station. Some train cars and locomotives you can go I side of which was neat. Kids loved the play structure.
The house and grounds are beautiful and well taken care of. Pets are allowed outside and there is a play area for the kids.nThe large model train layout is in the old fire hall a block or so away, and is well worth a look.
