North Star Mohican Casino Resort

After driving many miles though uninhabited, rural Wisconsin, I did not have high hopes for this place. However, I was shocked at how nice this place was. The rooms are great and this is just an overall fun casino. I have been to and stayed at many casinos, but this was among the best. Good cheese curds, fresh Lienie's beer and plenty of newer machines to play. 3$ blackjack from a shoe, and 5$ two deck pitch were among my favorite games. Everyone there was friendly and laid back.

I visited the casino. The casino floor is arranged well so it is easy to navigate and makes the experience enjoyable. I was there during "prime" hours but did not have any problems finding open machines. I would have liked to see a few more of the higher end machines and maybe a little less of the ancient ones. I didn't have problems printing tickets from any machine but had numerous issues with "old" machines (think classic 25 cent or dollar slots) accepting them. Standard assortment of free soda and coffee was available (and nothing was out of order). Overall good experience. The only issue is the location -- kind of out in the middle of nowhere.

North Star was a great place to visit. This was my first time there and I was pleasantly impressed. The location was great being close to shopping, food and gas. The hotel and casino was very nice and we'll taken care of. The staff in both the hotel and casino we're very nice and very helpful willing to do what they could to make you as comfortable as possible. North Star is a great place to book a room if you're looking for a nice atmosphere, friendly people, a good time.

I know this review is not what ;people want to read, but I HAVE to write it. When looking at reviews for a "CASINO", why do I want to read how much food people ate at the buffets, or how good the music was, or how nice the hotel was, or if the perks were wonderful? Or, if the food was cold, the drinks were warm, the sheets were not silky enough, there was a hair in the bathroom sink. HOLY COW! THIS IS A CASINO, kids, a CASINO!!! How about the pay out at the miserable machines? I don't go to a casino to do anything but gamble and hope to get a win . Rarely happens, so why should I rave about silly amenities. If you want a great buffet and hotel - just go anywhere. Why go to a casino and lose $$$$ just to have food and sleep? I'll never understand it.

We went to the casino for some fun adult time. Overall it was good, the machines were fun to play and allowed us to win a little bit. We ate at the buffet too. The prime rib was great but everything else didn't seem to great. I tried the stuffed chicken breast which was very dry. Service was what would be expected for a buffet. We probably would go back but we're not dying to get back there anytime soon. The atmosphere was nice but overall, the place didn't seem as friendly as other casinos.
