Gem of a place! Live music, cozy setting and great drinks and food. What more can you ask for?! Their hours are limited so plan accordingly. There was no cover charge for music on the night we were there. I heard the cover charge on some nights is about $20. My favorite menu items were the cauliflower appetizer and the risotto comes with scallops. Steak bites and meat patties were also enjoyed by others in our group.
We had an AMAZING experience here for my husband’s 50th. Scotch flight, food, and service was all stellar and made this day even more special! New owners are wonderful and you wouldn’t think such an unassuming place would be this outstanding. So grateful to have a family owned and run place in our neighborhood!
A music and food lover's paradise! Loved the former owners, and the new owner is a fantastic chef who cares immensely about customer satisfaction. Service is fantastic. I feel at home here.Food: 5/5
Got the asparagus, crab cakes, empanadas, seafood Alfredo and Pacific Cod and chips. Really great asparagus, probably one of the best asparagus dishes I've ever had. The egg was cold but it had a nice texture, it's understandable, lot of work to do it fresh every time. Good crab cake you can tell they use good crab meat. Veggie empanada tasted fantastic the sauce is a bit salty but not overwhelming. Seafood Alfredo delicious fresh pasta and not too greasy sauce good fresh shrimp. Cod and chips, huge pieces of fish, I'm not sure if the batter is seasoned but the sauce it comes with is amazing so it's not a big deal to me and the browning of the crust was perfect. Excellent fries Edit: tried the cioppino, scallops and pesto linguine Everything was perfect. EDIT: New menu, kind of sad, I really wanted the cioppino one more time. Got the au poivre steak and mac n' cheese. Very tender steak delicious sauce. Nice arugula salad. The mac n' cheese was very rich and flavorful, caught a whiff of that parmesan stank when I opened the box, knew it was gonna be good.
I really wanted to like this restaurant. We live nearby and it would be so great to have a really tasty bistro down the street. The folks working there were nice enough but not really welcoming like you would expect in a small neighborhood business. When we arrived we had a reservation but could pick our own table. It was sort of awkward and felt like we were just supposed to wander around and pick a spot. The wine list was great and we were happy with our drinks. Sadly the food wasn’t very good. It was bland and seemed like it was taken out of the freezer and reheated. I can make food at home that is way tastier and half the price. I would come back for cocktails and music, but I can’t justify spending that much money on food that I can cook better myself. If they revamped the menu I would be happy to give it another try.
Friday fun night. Live music with Entre Mundos Brazilian singer. Vegetarian options are available. The apple dessert is AMAZING! Vegetarian options: Veggie Empanadas
Wow. Just wow. One of the best live music sets I have ever seen in a restaurant. Plus the wonderful food and delightful staff! I gathered that this place is under new ownership but as this was my first time here I'm not sure how it's changed. I will definitely be returning and found my new favorite spot for my music loving friends!
Since the new owners have taken the bistro the place has transformed into a welcoming place. Food is really good. Their wine selection is to die for. The bands are constantly sold out So much so that I heard they might be open to having two sets for some events. There is no reason NCB should be closed at 10 pm on a Saturday Evening. Old management created that... New management wants to change that. Stay tuned.
Found this little gem recently and wanted to give it a shot! Cozy atmosphere with live music, decently priced wine/cocktails and inviting staff. My husband and I each had two glasses of wine and the cheese plate. The cheese plate is melted brie with crostinis, which the menu did state, but I’d maybe suggest adding a traditional cheese board to the menu. It was around $70, which I feel is pretty typical for the area. I gave 4/5 stars because for a wine shop, I was hoping for more of a variety of wine by the glass. Most of them were from the same brand. No biggie, but would like to have had a few more options. This wine shop feels like a true neighborhood staple and we will definitely be back, and can’t wait to sit on the patio when it warms up!
It was amazing! There's prices have been dropped down so a person can spend 100$ and get quite a few appetizers to choose from. Every dish I tasted truly was Encridible edibles!!!. I wish I could show pictures, of the dishes. I update later.
