Love the gluten-free fish and chips here! The taste is great and it's neither heavy nor dripping in oil. The portions are big yet the price is low. Definitely worth the trip!
I’m a big fan of lobsters, as an animal and a food! This lighthouse shaped store is great for tourists as it has a free picture taking area with hats, lighting and the ability to post on social media or e-mail to yourself and photos/maps of sights to see in Nova Scotia. It is also fun for anyone young/old that enjoys a bit of fun! There is a live lobster tank, a lookout at the top of the lighthouse AND their per blue lobster “Nova” that seems to be the most spoiled captive lobster in the world as she is fed oysters and clams on a daily basis. The staff were very friendly, informative and seemed to really like working there. Great spot!
Never disappointed with the fish and chips here!! Always gluten free and always fresh and delicious!!
One of my favorite spots in Nova scotia. Staying overnight to be first in line. Fresh seafood fantasy. Even the frozen lobster pies are to die for! Lots of space for parking.
We enjoyed a delicious feed of fish and chips on the deck!!! It was not our first visit and I'm sure it won't be our last!!!
Went for lunch with my boyfriend and our four boys. The wait wasn't too bad. About 20 minutes, which for our clan is pretty good. We ordered two orders of 2 piece fish and chips, one piece fish and chips, a shrimp and chips and two cod nuggets and fries for our little guys. The batter on the dish and chips was too salty for all of us. Which really surprised me because none of us are shy with salt. It was cooked well though. I was disappointed that they just had packaged tartar sauce. For a place that sells exclusively fish and seafood I expected something house made. The cod nuggets were tasty and not pressed pieces, actual cut up fillet pieces. The shrimp that our 12 year old got were the best part of the order. Cooked perfectly, tail off and the batter was light and crispy. All in all for $80 I found it was expensive for only a so so meal.
This is the best fish and chips in the province. We dive from Halifax a couple times each summer just for supper. There's usually a little wait but you can shop next door while you wait for your buzzer to tell you your meal is ready. I noticed they even have online ordering now. The fillets are big, you have to be really hungry to tackle a 2 piece. I saw some reviews about sub par tartar sauce, this season they make their own - really tasty.
We stop here on our annual pilgrimage to Nova Scotia. The seafood is fresh and delicious, the weather, somehow always amazing, the deck kept tidy and clean despite the crowds. Service is friendly and helpful. Their menu clearly indicate gluten free options and they were very helpful in answering questions about allergies.
Best fish n chips around! Though it is a bit of a wait as it's so delicious and worth it so allow some extra time. I especially love the fenced in sand pit adjacent to it. It allows my kids to play and have fun and leave me alone while we are waiting for our meal.
A great selection of fresh, frozen, and smoked seafood. We purchased the smoked mackerel and fresh halibut and they were fantastic! The staff were very friendly and the displays upstairs in the lighthouse were well put together and informative. We really enjoyed our stop here.
