Definitely on the pricey side but loved the creative touches they added to the items on the menu and the quality of the food. Restaurant ambience was lovely and felt classy. We had the Seared Salmon roll, Cali Donburi, East and West Coast Oysters, Crispy Pork Belly, and their specialty sakes. Food took a bit to arrive but it was absolutely worth the wait. Servers were also very friendly. Sometimes took a little to get their attention as it was busy but generally very attentive. Consider coming with a group of friends as they have many shareable options. Overall a great experience, will be coming again in the future. Parking: Paid parking was available behind the restaurant when we arrived, be prepared for a bit of a walk especially on weekends.
Great food. The sliders burgers were really good, so was the risotto. The tacos where a little dry, could use some more sauce. The oysters were OK nothing too special. Everything else were really good as expected.
My friend and I went here for dinner and enjoyed everything we ate. We had the Poke bowl, shrimp salad, gyoza with truffle cream, shrimp sushi roll. We even had room for dessert, the honey butter bread with ice cream for dessert! It's has up beat atmosphere and very busy place for dinner. I want to try the Shops at Din Mills location next time.
Love coming to Nomé! Go-to dishes we love to order are Tiger Shrimp, dozen oyster east/west 6 each, short ribs, baked oysters, and honey butter chips. We tried the Double Salmon sushi roll, would not order again. Great service and good prices for amount of food. Worth ordering a few dishes and sharing.
The lychee iced tea, ginger roll, oysters, and burgers were really good! The short ribs and fried chicken was yummy but nothing special. The ambiance was cute but it didn't match the price range that the restaurant is in. That being said our service was really bad. We waited 1 hour between the oysters and the rest of our meal. There was not much communication until we brought it up to our waiter and they didn't comp anything on our bill until we complained about the lack of service. We also waited a good half an hour with our table empty without anyone asking us if we want our bill. At the end they took the short ribs off our bill which honestly is not enough for the lack of service we received. Overall tasty food but the ambiance and service doesn't match the price.
Great experience. Good food. The sea food is fresh and tastes delicious. The oysters are $1 on Tuesday, so if you’re in on Tuesday do not forget to order it. Also it’s pretty busy so make sure you order in advance so you don’t have to wait for the food to arrive.
Very pricy, but tasty. Definitely a place to go out once a year, but not a regular place, otherwise you will go broke. Oysters 1$ a piece on Tuesdays are good, but the size is not big and you don’t really feel the taste. Was very excited to try this place at first, and after we tried it, the experience wasn’t as “wow” as we thought it would be as per other people’s reviews. 3.5 stars
What got me really impressed being here was the food presentation. Every dish was plated extremely well, and all look very appetizing. The service we got was also commendable. There was usually someone willing and ready to assist us. Something this Japanese place also has going for it was that they have oysters available — both from the West Coast and East Coast. My group was able to sample enough variety from their menu. We ordered Bulgogi Tacos, Marinated Short Rib, Apple Salmon, and another specialty roll. They all came out looking and tasting great. The only downside I see was that the food items tend to be priced on the more premium side. The serving portions are small and it is easy for the bill to climb up if you are coming here to eat and not dine.
Food presentation is very good and very pricy too! Small restaurant and not fancy decoration. Food quality is an average and small portion. If you want to get full like dinner, please well prepare money to pay the bill! Try it once for special celebration like birthday is fine, but definitely won't come here for regular dinner to break my bank.
Super overrated. Severely disappointed by the portioning in general, but particularly the sad dish of calamari and tiger shrimp. Sliders were good but the fish tacos tasted as if a fast food chain attempted to make tacos. Service was relatively inattentive and forgot to make our takoyaki. Ordered a beer and when it didn't arrive after everything else did, I was informed that the beer I ordered was actually sold out. After all that our group of 6 was charged a mandatory 20% gratuity fee for the sub-par service. Overall food was overpriced and average and I would not come again not recommend it.
