My review: From start to finish, my experience at Noble was fantastic. I had a wonderful girls weekend that was only made better with the delicious food and cocktails at Noble. We were greeted by Miles, the restaurant’s host. He was professional and kind. We were then introduced to our server Ryan. Ryan was knowledgeable, personable, attentive, and patient. I say patient because, girls weekend. We were giggling and probably louder than most patrons. Ryan took it all in stride and joked with us. We ordered several appetizers, half the menu really. My favorite appetizer was the pork belly with kimchi. It was fatty, spicy, crunchy. A perfect combination. For my beverage, I ordered a Hattan Bow Tie, which was absolutely delicious. Tastes similar to an old fashion, but with the volume turned up. For my main course I ordered the dry aged burger with a jowl bacon jam, arugula, brioche bun, and duck poutine. The burger was a perfect balance of salt, fat, sweet, and acid. The jam was the cherry on top. The duck poutine, need I say more? It’s duck poutine! It was salty, savory, and cheesy. Loved every bite. Russell, the food and beverage manager was attentive and knowledgeable. Overall, it was a lovely dinner and I have no doubt that me and my friends will be back.
I just left Noble and to be honest I was very dissapointed with the new menu. My burger was excellent, but my wife ordered the scallops and It was terrible. For 44 dollars we got 3 scallops on top of the worst "risotto" I've ever seen in my life. It was a solid lump. I went to school for the culinary arts and I was taught to make risotto by a world class chef. I have seen better risottos from students who burned it and salvaged it. We complained and they refused to do anything besides offer a side of fries. It's clear that this establishment is attempting some sort of high class fine dining but is not living up to my expectations at all. There is quite a bit of steep competition in the area for good food. I won't be coming back. P.S: If you want to see what a real good risotto looks and tastes like then go to Enoteca Athena. Edit: the host was great and the server was great, it's just a shame to pay 180 dollars for a dinner and have my wife leave dissapointed and hungry...
A few girlfriends and I went to dinner at Noble on our girls weekend and had the best time! As soon as we got there the ambiance and host of the restaurant were so welcoming. Between the 5 of us we tried a few of the drinks on the menu and the Hattan Bow Tie was my favorite, I highly recommend if you like bourbon. We ordered at least five of the appetizers and my favorite was definitely the Wood Ear Mushrooms, the grits and chorizo butter were so creamy and delicious, although I did love many of the items on the charcuterie board as well. I ordered the Butter-Poached Chicken Roulade and not only was the presentation beautiful but the dish was delectable. Our server Ryan was very knowable and attentive to all of our requests. Russell, the food and beverages manager was also very present during our meal and answered all of our many questions. Overall we had an awesome night and will surely be visiting Noble again!
I have only had food here a few times and it was always good, but the reason I love this place is the atmosphere. While looking for a cool, friendly place to hang out for a drink we tried a number of places and it was almost always a Goldilocks experience too much of something, not enough of another, etc. but Noble was "just right." The bartender, Brandon, is especially fun, and made us feel welcome and included from the first visit. Watching the staff joke with each other, talking to others in the bar area, and enjoying a good drink is a safe bet every time we stop in. I almost hate to tell other people because I might not get a seat if I spread the word, but the place deserves credit.
I went for dinner Tuesday night with my husband. I was excited at the prospect of trying Noble's new supposedly more up scale menu but left sorely disappointed. We order the brussels sprout appetizer and that was delicious, nice and crispy with adequate seasoning. For the main course I ordered the butternut squash risotto with scallops. For $44 I got three scallops and a plate of gummy mush with blanched unseasoned brussels sprouts. As you can see from the attached photo, my risotto typically a creamy dish could be molded into a tower. When the waiter came back to ask how everything was I explained that the scallops were great but the risotto was unlike any I'd ever had and was gummy in texture. I tried to eat it but it was disgusting, the butternut squash was in chunks throughout the dish and it was like eating a plate of too cheesy overcooked rice-a-roni. I've made better risotto myself out of a box and I am not a professional chef, although I do work in hospitality management and the way this establishment decided to handle my complaint is appalling. When I voiced my concern to the waiter he asked what I'd like him to do about it, I told him that I would like the dish to be discounted 50% off because I did eat the scallops but I wasn't able to stomach the risotto nor did I think it was worth the hefty price tag. He refused to discount it, never offered to remake it and offered me a side of fries to make up for the $44 dollars I spent on my dinner. I refused because a side of fries does not make up for the money I wasted on what was supposed to be a nice night out, something we only indulge in once in a while. Next time I'll just go to Enoteca Athena if I want some decent food and some quality customer service. To make a long story short, not at all worth the money. Obviously they're trying to execute a high class restaurant for the money without investing in training their employees to produce that quality of food.
My husband and I really enjoyed the New Years menu. It seemed pricy but the food lived up to the price, and it was fun to experience all six courses. The single scallop appetizer was the only part that seemed a little skimpy. The mushroom soup appetizer and duck main dish were especially good. The chocolate cake with four different types of filling was also yummy. We look forward to coming back some time to try the regular menu. Beautiful interior and nice vibe.
Excellent all around! Will be sure to be back very soon. Forgot to take pictures of our meals, but the haddock was delightful! Cocktails superb, sticky toffee pudding - dynamite!
The Noble Kitchen is located downstairs in the Brunswick Hotel, where I stayed for a girls weekend and enjoyed a great dinner here. The ambience is upscale, warm and inviting. We were greeted by a friendly host who showed us to our table quickly. Our server Ryan was efficient and very personable and friendly, making personal recommendations on the menu when we were unsure. He was attentive to our needs but also gave us space to enjoy talking and laughing amongst ourselves. There is an extensive drinks and cocktails menu with something for everyone. I enjoyed the Ophelia's Sonnet, which was unlike any cocktail I've had before, I think due to the house infused Fennell Gin which was certainly unique. We ordered several appetizers to share which were all amazing but my personal favorite was the Pork Belly Confit and Wood Ear Mushrooms. I had the short rib for my entrée which was simply perfect. Cooked well and a perfect serving size that I didn't feel it was too much food nor not enough. It was complimented well with the sweet potato and asparagus the asparagus was a slight menu change for the evening, but very much enjoyed. The food and beverage manager Russell was knowledgeable and attentive. He was extremely gracious when a member of the group sent back a cocktail that wasn't to her liking. Clearly customer service is very important here and that showed with every interaction we had with the staff that evening. Overall this was a great dinner and I would recommend to both groups and couples. Parking: There is a parking lot right outside the Hotel. We had parked earlier in the day as we were staying overnight so I'm not sure if it would be full by dinnertime but seems like street parking would not be an issue Dietary restrictions: A member of my party had a nut allergy which they were understanding of
Disappointing. Cocktails were delicious, food took over an hour to arrive and was mediocre. Server was understanding and gave us an appropriate discount on the food prices. I would return for drinks anytime but will start with an appetizer to judge food quality before ordering a entrée again.
We had a girls weekend in Maine and stayed overnight at the Brunswick Hotel. Noble is the in house restaurant and it did not disappoint. The ambiance is upscale casual; great for our group but this would also be romantic for a date night. There was a pianist playing, which was fun but didn’t get in the way of our conversation. We felt well cared for by Ryan, our server and Russell, the Food & Beverage Director. The cocktail list had something for everyone, I personally would recommend Opposites Attract for anyone who enjoys a great bourbon cocktail. For a starter I had the pork belly confit with house made kimchi. The kick of the kimchi perfectly balanced the richness of the pork belly and the crunch was phenomenal. My meal was the black cod loin with vichyssoise. The cod was moist with crisp skin and presented beautifully in a pool of vichyssoise that brought a nice depth of flavor. The golden beet relish rounded out the dish with a subtle brightness. I finished with the pink peppercorn pavlova which was a fun surprise. The crisp meringue had just the slightest touch of pepper, creating a a nice take on the traditional dessert. The blood orange curd was perfect for a winter dessert. Overall we had a wonderful night. Russell and Ryan were attentive and interactive without interrupting our evening. I would definitely recommend to groups and couples alike and will certainly return the next time I’m in the area. Parking: Onsite, convenient parking lot Dietary restrictions: The staff was very respectful and careful about my tree-nut allergy
