Nith River Campground is the hidden jewel of Southern Ontario! It sits on the banks of the Nith River,only 15 minutes from Kitchener/Waterloo

Story

Doug and Mary Rielly Welcome you to the Nith River Campground. The hidden jewel of Southern Ontario! It sits on the banks of the Nith River, only 15 minutes from Waterloo and just north of the town of New Hamburg. There are 60 acres of open spaces, woodlands, and campsites along with one of the largest swimming pools in the area. Depending upon whether you prefer the sun or the shade, you can have your choice of a shady, treed site or an open sunny site. In addition, there is a large picnic pavilion available for family reunions, company picnics, weddings and church groups. We also have a catch and release fishing pond with some of the biggest bass, carp, perch and assorted other fish you can ever hope to hook.

We are open from May 1 until the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Our "snowbird" section is open until the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Are you a snowbird? Our social committee is very active in providing campers with activities ranging from Friday night movie nigh and Saturday night bingo to Halloween in the Park and Christmas in August.

We spent the May long weekend at one of the overnight sites at Nith River Campground.nnWe stayed for three nights and had such a wonderful time. We had no problem finding the campground as the signage from the road is very clear.nnThe campground is very well taken care of. The bathroom/shower buildings were sparkling, garbage area was tidy, no litter to be seen anywhere in the park. Definitely the cleanest campground our family has ever visited.nnThere were lots of activities to keep our kids 13&11 busy. Basketball court, volleyball court, playground, well-stocked pond for catch&release fishing, hiking trails, evening events put on in the rec hall, etc. Can't wait to visit at a later point in the summer when the pool is open!nnThe children of the families on the seasonal sites were great at being welcoming and inviting our kids to hang out basically all weekend. Everyone we talked to was kind and polite.nnDespite it being a long weekend and the park being busy, we didn't find it to be loud. We had enough privacy on our site.nnThe staff that we met in the office and out in the park were friendly and knowledgeable. The owner, Doug, made sure we had everything we needed and that we were happy with our stay. It was lovely to chat with him and meet his three adorable pups!. Thank you to Doug and his family for making our stay a positive one!
Park is nice but need to have better rules. Site was nice leading right to the pond all down hill tho. Pool is big, I thought it was heated but wasn't and was cold no big deal we still swam. Other campers need to respect site areas and not walk through sites to get to pond. Wasn't very nice of the ppl that put garbage in our firepit while they were fishing.
Very great experience! We have four kids and stayed in the little cabin. There is a massive pool and large playground that the kids loved. Very nice people. Will be coming again.
We have visited Nith River Campground every summer, and we can’t say enough about the property, fellow campers, the amenities and the owners. Doug, Mary and Jason are always available and make you feel right at home. My kids love the pool, the playground, taking hikes in the forest, riding their bikes, and especially fishing in the pond. You won’t be disappointed! Thanks for making us feel so welcomed every visit!
My family just spent 4 nights here and everything was fantastic. Doug and Jason were very helpful and made us feel at home instantly. It is nice to be somewhere where everyone is friendly and waves. Definitely one of the cleanest parks we have ever been to as well. We will 100pct be back next year.... hoping for a much longer stay.
