Nith River Campground is the hidden jewel of Southern Ontario! It sits on the banks of the Nith River,only 15 minutes from Kitchener/Waterloo

Story

Doug and Mary Rielly Welcome you to the Nith River Campground. The hidden jewel of Southern Ontario! It sits on the banks of the Nith River, only 15 minutes from Waterloo and just north of the town of New Hamburg. There are 60 acres of open spaces, woodlands, and campsites along with one of the largest swimming pools in the area. Depending upon whether you prefer the sun or the shade, you can have your choice of a shady, treed site or an open sunny site. In addition, there is a large picnic pavilion available for family reunions, company picnics, weddings and church groups. We also have a catch and release fishing pond with some of the biggest bass, carp, perch and assorted other fish you can ever hope to hook.

We are open from May 1 until the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Our "snowbird" section is open until the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Are you a snowbird? Our social committee is very active in providing campers with activities ranging from Friday night movie nigh and Saturday night bingo to Halloween in the Park and Christmas in August.

My family just spent 4 nights here and everything was fantastic. Doug and Jason were very helpful and made us feel at home instantly. It is nice to be somewhere where everyone is friendly and waves. Definitely one of the cleanest parks we have ever been to as well. We will 100pct be back next year.... hoping for a much longer stay.
Amazing experience. We stayed on an overnight site for 3 nights and were delighted with all aspects of the campground. All the facilities were well maintained and sensibly laid out. Although we didn't bring any of our grandkids, we wished we had, because the pool and other activities were amazing. The owners were very helpful after we experienced a problem with the power and fixed it immediately. As we had our dogs there, they introduced us to some of their canine family members! The site was idyllic. Right on the edge of the fishing pond, and within earshot of the comforting sound of the fountain. This trip was by far the best we have experienced so far. Can't wait to go back and stay longer. Thanks again Doug and Jason.
Spent the weekend camping with our 4 grandkids. Park was great! Between the pool, the basketball and volleyball courts the kids had a blast! Washrooms were clean and it is one of the quietest parks we have camped at!
Camping while visiting the area. Nice quiet and very clean campground. Everyone is friendly. The “cement” pond swimming pool is refreshing. If we ever come to this area again we will be sure to visit!
Great, family-friendly campground! The owners go out of their way to keep this campground safe, clean, family-friendly and well run. I feel safe, and that kids and dogs are welcomed here. Pool is fab, shallow great for kids!, and thankfully still open during Covid. We always tent there aren’t many tent sites and they are all very close to the washrooms, pool and playground- so, great for kids! We recommend the sites down by the pond! Lovely, quiet, way more private than most campgrounds, but not far from the amenities. Bathrooms looked extra clean and freshened up this year. You do have to buy wood to burn on site, but having seen what bugs can do to beautiful forests, this is reasonable! Just be prepared for the extra cost $15 for a large bag that lasts us 2-3 days
Incredible campground, we went there twice this summer and found it to be the best place we've found to camp with our family! The staff is very friendly, the atmosphere of the entire campground is friendly, they have attracted very friendly and welcoming seasonal campers! Our children and us had two fantastic trips there and we will definitely be back a few times next season!! :
We've stayed at Nith River Campground two years in a row and have had an enjoyable time both visits. We had a full hookup site near the pool. We bought firewood when we arrived and it had to be the driest wood we've ever bought while camping. So easy to light a nice fire. The campground has a relaxing, friendly feel to it. Loved all the big trees in the campground, providing a nice amount of shade. We will definitely be back again!
Beautiful, well maintained, family-friendly campground! We visited Nith River for the 1st time last summer, and the owners were incredibly kind, accommodating, and helpful at all times. The other campers made the campground such a friendly, personable community. My children and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to go back this summer! They loved the pool especially, which was always clean and toys were provided. The stars at night are an incredible sight. Staying there was a DREAM!
Stayed for 4 nights in a 50 amp spot with our trailer. We received a friendly welcome at the office upon arrival. Firewood was good and dry. 50 amp spots were level with packed gravel, great water pressure, no issues with the electric even with lots of ACs running nearby. Everything was clean and well kept. The park was quiet and everyone was friendly. We had a great time.
Worst stay of my life. Doug and his wife are absolutely unprofessional and completely mental. They're on a complete power trip and have driven out so many campers. Lucky for them... COVID.. and people are desperate.... one night stay, not so bad... but the power trip and the way this man and his wife will speak to you is outrageous. If you're going for a night... have fun... but if you're going for any longer... look out for a disgraceful and dehumanizing experience.
