Food quality unacceptable. $20 plus for the smallest watered down serving of curry . My rice was over cooked and mushy and my naan was too hard to pull apart, let alone, eat . Complete waste of money.
My girlfriend ordered delivery from here and I have to say this was some of the worst food in Ithaca I've ever had, especially for the price. In the future we'll stick to other Indian restaurants.
What a great find! I love the selection here. Prices are good. Owner is friendly. Great location for Indian food and spices.
I finally figured out how to park and thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the bizarre. I found many things that I love and enjoy from India. The jaggery I bought was very fresh, the coconut water delightful, and the staff/owner very helpful. I will go back. I'm sorry I didn't go on a day when there was hot street food available!
As an Indian student at Cornell who just wanted to find a nice neighborhood Indian store that felt like home, NO place has ever almost make me CRY after going like Nirvana. I left in tears. Walking in, the place had no customers and no prices. No one ever expects to need to look at all the prices online before coming to a new grocery store. I grabbed a few things that I have bought my whole life from other Indian stores in a college town that should be no more than $5 each. Except one serving of frozen curry was close to $11 each. After seeing the prices at the register, I asked the cashier if I could take off a few items before paying because I simply can't afford frozen food that expensive as a student. Instead, I was SCOLDED for "wasting her time" and that I shouldn't come back without looking at the website beforehand because labelling the items' prices and taking them off my receipt which was MY right to ask them to do was "wasting her time" again. She said other things that were mean as well. If serving your customers is "wasting your time" then why have any customers at all. I felt attacked and was just trying to afford some groceries after feeling homesick. I ran out of the store trying not to cry. Seeing these other negative reviews, it looks like the owner doesn't respond well to feedback and instead attacks everyone that speaks up against him. So the owner will probably argue with me under this review and call me fake; but after going here in person, I dont expect anything better, and I don't expect to be respected by these people.
I had one of the worst experience of my life. I think there is not much demand of Indian food in that area and guy sells stale refrigerated food after heating it. It smells and you might end up getting bad stomach. I ended up in store thinking to promote local business even though items were priced high. But after reporting the owner about food rather than admitting his mistake he started to fight and definitely very very rude person. Avoid his shop.
I felt very unwelcome and humiliating by the owner’s wife. She’s so rude and insulting. When I sat on the bench to eat my lunch which I had bought from the same store and taken the permission from the owner himself his wife started yelling at me. She said “it’s not India., it’s America. Behave like one. You can not sit here. I don’t care what my husband says and does.” Her exact words. She literally asked me to get out. She has no manners. No humanity. And No professionalism at all. it’s way too pricey… Worst experience Guys please avoid this store
Good cup of chai. Worst chat ever. No customer service by owners wife- maybe she is depressed.
This place has amazing selections and great price! They have every Indian grocery item you can think of. I always come back to this place! They have fresh Indian curry leaves and fresh chillies, that you can't find anywhere in this city. I recommend! They also have the best spice collection in Ithaca!
Super clean, cute Indian grocery+ take out homemade Indian food place! Can’t wait to try all the snacks, frozen Indian food we just got.
