We’ve dine in here a few times already and it’s about time to give review. Food here are absolutely appetizing . We’ve had lentils soup and eggplants, always excellent taste. The mains were Kefta and Grilled Beef were just so delicious. You can taste the different seasonings that were mixed into it. And unlike any other beef, this one is as tender as ever. We had Sana who served us, she was always attentive to our needs and surprisingly memorized all our orders without having to write them down, and Ofcourse the orders were correct Lastly, the restaurant itself is aesthetically pleasing and you can feel the Egyptian vibe. Overall, I think this place is underrated, I highly recommend to dine in and dig in. Amazing experience always
We were SO happy to find this place on College street in Toronto! Being so far from home and craving authentic Egyptian food - this place was a Godsend. They even have shisha- yes please! The host was very friendly and the food was scrumptious! Can't wait to go back!
You absolutely need to try this restaurant for exquisite Egyptian Food in Toronto! Our server was amazing and she made our entire experience that much better. Everything we tried was so flavourful we would definitely go back for a second time + the drinks were delicious! From the menu we tried: - Falafel - Mediterranean Loaded Fries - Mixed Dip Platter Hummus, Baba Ghanoush, Mosaka - Fattoush Salad - Garlic Shrimp Dinner - Koshari - Honey Bourbon Sour - Drunken Pharoah This spot has excellent ratings for a very good reason it's worth the hype!
If you ever want to try authentic Egyptian food... You will enjoy the flavors, freshness, atmosphere, and quality. Worth the trial, and I promise you, that you will fall in love. I missed Egypt even more after this experience
Pretty good experience. Was looking for some healthier options and this place fit what I was looking for. Food was tasty and fresh. The atmosphere could be better. It was a bit over priced considering the location and level of the restaurant. I'd recommend it for takeout specials but not dine it.Food: 4/5
The first time I ate here I got the 1/2 bbq chicken dinner and it was great. Came back and ordered the grilled beef dinner and was thoroughly disappointed. It was mostly rice. The meal was $22 and I got a can of Diet Coke with it which came to nearly $30 for a huge container packed to the rim with rice, an extremely small portion of beef, with a side salad and piece of pita. It was tasty - but that was the most expensive steamed rice I’ve ever eaten. 7.5/10 on flavour, 2/10 on portion.
If you are a fan of Mediteranian food, this is a must try. I ordered - Shish Tawook Dinner - Lentil soup For the dinner, you have multiple choices such as Vermicelli rice & salad, Gluten free rice & house salad, Rice & fries, Fries & house salad, Rice only and Fries only. You can also get grilled veggies, mashed potatoes and other types of salad. But you have to pay extra for them. My order was delivered on time. There were also two loaves of bread and a small Garlic sauce with my order. The Shish Tawook was fresh and tasted good. It was topped up with caramelized onion. The house salad had a dressing of olive oil and Zaatar. The lentil soup was mixed and smooth. So do not expect to see the lentils. I enjoyed the food and will definitely order from them again.
Nile River is a bit of a hidden gem…I keep expecting everyone to know about it and they should - it’s on College street, the food is great, and the space is large enough for a big crowd, but I end up being the one to introduce people to it. The location is large and the tables are comfortable. There is some Egyptian motifs in the decoration, but honestly not enough that it should be the main reason to visit. The main reason to visit is delicious and authentic Egyptian food. There are a few places around Toronto that claim Egyptian, but only a handful present authentic Egyptian style recipes, and this is one of them! Yes, the falafels are made using fava beans! Portion sizes and pricing are both fair. The service is very good: friendly and helpful. If you’ve not already been, I’d highly recommend a visit. 4.5/5 Stars For more recipes, reviews and travel, follow me on Instagram: @yamisohungry and @yamisosleepy !
Koshari is Good, friendly, mild taste. Even it contain garlic. And portion was pretty big. It will be enough if you feel hungry.
I enjoyed the live music and belly dancing on a Friday night with my friend. The lamb dish was huge so it was totally worth the price. The drinks are good too. Service was fast and the owner seems to care about each person being attended to. I think they will see their business grow
