Came here for the first time this week and it was a pretty great experience! The overall ambiance is dark lighting which makes it feel more intimate and private. The host was extremely accommodating even though we were late. I ordered the oysters as well as the nightingale burger which was pretty good nothing amazing, just a basic burger and my friend ordered the steak tartare which she absolutely loved. I probably wouldn’t return due to there not many options on the menu.
Cozy, elegant, and lively. Wonderful service. Unique and surprising flavor combinations on their dishes. I love that it's a neighborhood place, but has enough class and intrigue to have people drive across town. Give this place your business.
Another Lyndale street . Great atmosphere, the owner is a localshout out to J. The food is always on point and the drinks are creative and fun. Been coming here for 8+ years, never disappoints.
I went out with a new friend, and we had an excellent experience all around. The ambience was very calming, and the music was choice! We ordered the meat plate and the pickle plate, and both were delicious! Our host and server for absolutely wonderful! As a black person, who was accompanied by a white man, I would like to point out that the host and server addressed me respectfully and I feel like I was treated as just as much of a priority as he was. Eye contact, direct greeting, engaging in light conversation. Excellent! I forgot to take a picture before I started eating the pickle plate, so I took a picture after I was done with it.
Went at a good time started outside and before it rained let us inside by the bar. The drinks were amazing and glad they were so accommodating. Would definitely go back and try more food.
It is always a good day when I ask a restaurant if they have a dedicated GF fryer and the answer is "YES"! I was so pleasantly surprised to hear that I was able to eat the french fries. The server also went out of her way to inform me that the malt vinegar aioli is not gluten free so she substituted it for the herb aioli. The fries were delicious and so crunchy. I also ordered the house white wine which was pretty good for $7 and an extra dirty martini. I didn't like the martini but that's on me because it was my first time ever having one! I cannot wait to go back to try more. The atmosphere is great as well and our server was so kind. The fries came out so quickly!
Let me start off with saying the service was on point, we loved our server. But when it came to the food and drinks it is nothing we write home about. Yes it's unique and plated nice but missed on flavors. The duck soup was overly salty. The octopus was cooked correctly but what it was paired with lacked in flavor. The pierogies were cold and I felt deep fried for to long, oily. Finally the burger was okay, but fries were delicious. The drinks were really really strong. For a place I would consider to be somewhat finer dining it fell short. Now this may be just due to the night but I don't know if I would go back...
great atmosphere! and even better food! staff are always super nice and knowledgeable about the menu items. perfect places for dates or a friend hang out!
Espresso martinis and house smoked olives. Bliss. I love the drinks, shout out to Penny the best bartender, and the olives are so. good. I’ll be buying them in bulk next time I go I’m leaving it at 4 stars because a lot of the food options are a little odd to me.
Been going here for years since it was one of few restaurants that opened really late. Came here recently for dinner with friends and we ordered: shrimp toast, mushroom bruschetta, burger, Mahi Mahi, mussels in a curry sauce, and the lobster pasta. The appetizers were good. I ordered the lobster pasta and it was disappointing - very under-seasoned. I never have to add extra salt; I actually under-salt when I cook, but the pasta really had no salt or pepper. It was very creamy and that was it. Then, I had a bite of the fish and the mussels. The fish was also very under-seasoned. Mussels was okay, not my favorite. Overall, pretty disappointed with the main dishes, but the apps were good. I do enjoy the atmosphere and I have so many fond memories here. I'll probably stick to the apps at Nightingale moving foward though.
