I had asked Neudorf to quote for the replacement of a hot water tank and found it to be reasonable. After install, and paying my bill, I had asked them back to check a couple of things with respect to a loss in hot water pressure.and to change a small section of pipe I felt they installed at a crazy angle. I had also asked while they were at my home to do a couple little extras without a quote.... no problem? ... they were reasonable with their previous quote, right? I was dead wrong. (hook up a waterline to the fridge, and change 3 feet of pvc to copper in the furnace room) I was subsequently billed thousands of dollars more. After almost a year the owner and I settled, but not because they could substantiate their billing practices to my satisfaction (they couldn't), but because they reduced the amount owing just to the point where going to court would be more costly. It tainted an otherwise good relationship I had with them. BOTTOM LINE: Get quotes for absolutely everything, and don't be ashamed to do so.
