The restaurant was pretty spacious and had a fresh vibe.nnI would say the ordering experience could be better. Our server was not the most friendly and approachable at the time. I got the beef birria tacos and jalapeño poppers and my mom ordered the shawarma wrap with chips for takeout. After we ordered, we were kind of forgotten about by the servers. The wait time for both of our orders was about 30-35 mins given the restaurant wasn’t that full and no one came to update us on where our orders were at or at least offered us waters while we waited.nnThe food was pretty good and worth what I paid for. The jalapeño poppers were good with the lime crema. The tacos with the consommé, rice and beans were super filling; the flavour was there and the meat was soft, a little bit dry but definitely pleased with the dish overall. My mom was pleased as well with her shawarma.nnOverall, the experience and food at Neighbourhood Brewing was decent. The half an hour wait was fine, just wish the longer wait time could’ve been handled better or acknowledged by the servers so we did not feel forgotten about.
I recently visited Neighborhoods with my family and really enjoyed the experience. It has the feel of a typical brewhouse restaurant but with a unique and delicious Mexican flavor.nOne of the highlights was definitely the salsas they serve before the meal, they are awesome! The yellow salsa is a habanero pineapple that is spicy but very good. The black salsa has a great guacamole-style avocado flavor, and the red is a nice, spicy tomato salsa roja.nFor my main, I had the New School Beef Birria taco. It was quite oily, but I ended up eating the rest of it when I got home. We also ordered the carne asada and shredded chicken tacos, which were both tasty, though I was still left feeling hungry. These tacos are a good size for my daughter, though. My son ordered the kids' quesadilla with chicken and cheese, and it was a good portion size. We were also pleasantly surprised by the churros, and the chocolate dipping sauce was a nice touch. Finally, we ordered the nachos, which were surprisingly good and very filling. I especially loved the pico de gallo that came with them.nThe happy hour menu looked great, and I wish I had managed to go during that time. Overall, it was a solid experience with good food and good drinks. I definitely recommend checking it out!
My family and I had a great time here. The passion fruit wheat ale was delicious!! We had the tacos combo meal and it was great to be able to mix and match tacos. My kids both enjoyed their chicken strips, tortilla chips and churros. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted kindly and our server knew exactly the beer to recommend. If you’re in Penticton and want some food and beer, make Neighbourhood one of your stops!
What a nice little hangout! We sat outside on the patio and ordered one of their lighter beers, which was absolutely fantastic, and had their Tatchos for an appetizer, which was also delicious and tasty.nnThe only complaint was that it took quite a long time for the server to come back and take our order.nnOther than that, I'm planning to head back there to try their flight.
Fantastic food, fantastic atmosphere. The server seemed very casual and I expected that we would not get good service, but he was on point with comments, recommendations, and we never really waited for anything.nnThe Birria tacos were fantastic. Ended up ordering a second order so I could skip dinner later.
