Everyone we encountered on our first visit today made us feel welcome. Sarah was friendly, helpful and patient as she waited on us. Our food and drinks were delicious. We also really appreciated the ambiance and overall cleanliness of the restaurant. Would definitely recommend!
I was recommended Native by my manager at work who visits Lake Wallenpaupack often. I too was in the area enjoying the lake when I got the chance to go to this restaurant. What a pleasant surprise this gem of a restaurant was. coming from the NYC area, I have a high standard for eateries and this place was phenomenal. The appetizers were delicious - do not sleep on the meatballs and BLT Pork Belly, Green Tomato and herb mayo. The pasta dishes were also excellent and used fresh local ingredients. Anytime I am in this area of PA, I will stop by Native.
We have been wanting to try Native for a while. The menu was very interesting and the staff were all very knowledgeable about the menu, friendly, and attentive. We were really impressed with how good they were with dietary restrictions. We started with the bison tartare and crab toast. We then tried the smoked duck rillette and the beach lake bakery bread. Of these, our favorites were the bison tartare and the bread with chili butter. For our meals, we had the roasted half chicken and the grilled trout. The chicken was very well seasoned and very good. For dinner we ordered a honey Panna Cotta. This was not a traditional Panna Cotta, and had more of a cheesecake consistency. If you like that, this would be a good Panna Cotta for you, but if you're expecting a traditional Panna Cotta, this is not that... The honey flavor definitely came through though. All in all, we would go back. Dietary restrictions: They're very good at working with dietary restrictions.
My fiancé surprised me with dinner at native for my birthday and oh my, it did not disappoint! It was incredible. From the food, to the wine & service. Everything was impeccable. Pictures of burrata toast, short rib Mac & cheese, butternut squash gnocchi, & half of a roasted chicken.
The bruschetta is AMAZING it tastes so good! Also had the crab on toast, and the crab didn't taste overly powering on the seafood flavor, it was really well balanced! Definitely recommend both of those! The green goddess salad was HUGE, great portion, and the Mac n cheese was soooo good, just a heads up though, if you order the "bigger" portion of the Mac n cheese it's giant I should have only ordered the smaller one, it's like 4x the size! The cheesecake was really tasty, you can tell they use ricotta in it, and it's really yum Definitely would recommend this place! Plus I loved all the plants in the building, especially the huge Monstera you see when you first walk in! Gorgeous
Lovely experience. Very friendly and attentive wait staff. Fare was local, fresh, and impeccably cooked. The space is well designed and cozy. Highly recommend.
This is definitely a hidden gem. I was visiting the area from NYC and my friend recommended we go there on a Saturday night. It was definitely a place of a certain standard. I loved how upscale it was. It felt like I was in a NYC restaurant. Great food! I absolutely recommend it.
Absolutely AWESOME! Went for the first time with a friend last weekend. Sarah was an excellent server and made great recommendations. My friend and I tried the Cesar Salad so unique!, the beet salad, the tuna tartare, the gnocchi, and the ribeye. Everything was excellent. We each tried a specialty cocktail as well. Seriously one of the best restaurants in the area. Looking forward to returning in 2023!
Our type of place- culminating seasonal food- kid friendly- such a gem near our vacation home- looking forward to dining there again-
Our favorite restaurant in North East Pennsylvania! Farm to table, healthy portion sizes. The food and drinks is incredible and they make slight changes to the menu according to season, and offer weekly specials. Make sure to call for reservation, and tho not cheap out on this meal. It’s quality food and you absolutely get what you pay for.
