Myrtle & Rosie's Café

Stopped in for lunch and was met by a friendly waitress who was happy to see us. A comfy, cozy atmosphere with plenty of elbow room. We ordered a chicken salad sandwich on multigrain bread and a poutine with the works( hamburger, cheese, onions and gravy). Coffee was "help yourself" on the counter. The light lunch came to $20 with tax.

This is the sort of eating place were everybody glances up in a friendly way when you walk in. They are trying to place you: is this a member of one of Pecks, the Trempers, or some other renowned Bear River family? Or is this a visitor we have seen other summers, or perhaps someone new? It's a small town, so each person who appears gets a kindly lookover. The menu is straight-forward; the food is good and nourishing. There is free Wi-fi and, after your meal, you are just a short stroll away from Flight of Fancy, one of the best art galleries in Nova Scotia.

Incredible service, amazing food and great prices. Feels like your friends/family is taking care of you. If we weren't just visiting, this would be a regular spot!
