I had dim sum here with friends yesterday. The dim sum was good and had a strong wok hei that smoky, stir-fried aroma.nThe red rice noodle rolls had a chewy outer layer, a crispy middle, and tender shrimp filling.nThe stir-fried rice noodle rolls were savory and fresh, but if you’re not used to the taste of shrimp paste, avoid it.nThe curry baby squid was also very good—the curry flavor was authentic, and the squid was thick, meaty, and substantial.nThe waiting time wasn’t too long.nOne more thing to note: it’s best to park behind the building, which is closer to the restaurant entrance. Don’t park on side facing the Hwy 7—you’ll need to make a detour.
Dim sum is good but not stellar in the way it was a few years ago. The dinner, however, was really just ok and something I and my family wouldn't come back for. The food was fresh, but not memorable because the flavours didnt come through, and we weren't big fans of the method of preparation for some of them. For example, the sweet and sour chicken and the fried salt and pepper squid. Neither were crispy. Service was good and the tea was excellent. I'd only come back for dim sum, the #1 bun and a few other items can sometimes hit the spot.
We came back to try out again since long time ago. Heard that they changed the head chef. Food, service are very good now. They also promoting take out special, new year dishes and new year cake are very attractive. Will try out one by one.
Good environment for large family dinners. BBQ duck wad good, but was a but too oily. Seasoning overall feels slightly lacking.nnComplimentary desserts are nice. :
Dim Sum is one of those places that’s always packed — especially on weekends. It’s really hard to get a table unless you’re lucky or willing to wait. I happened to walk in at the right time and grabbed a two-person table with no wait, but that’s definitely not the norm. If you plan to go on a weekend, expect a long line.nnAs for the food: I thought the dim sum was good, but not amazing. The usual items — chicken feet, shrimp dumplings, spare ribs — were all solid, but nothing that blew me away. I’d give the food a 4 out of 5, which is fair for how everything tasted.nnPricing is okay, but I wouldn't say it's a great value. For two people, we ordered six dishes and paid around $54 after tax, and about $60+ with tip. Tea was $2.50 per person, which I know is common at some dim sum places, but it still surprised me a bit since not every place charges separately.nnYou’ll definitely leave full, and the food is reliable — but to be honest, for that price point, I feel like there are other dim sum spots that offer a bit more in terms of flavor or ambiance. I can see why it’s popular maybe convenience, location, or consistency?, but personally, I wouldn’t go out of my way to line up again.
