Musiikki Café

About

A place to Support the Music, Have a drink, Get inspired, & meet some harmonious friends!

Story

Musiikki Café has 2 basic missions:

1. Promote Music and Art
2. Provide a place to grab a drink and collaborate with others

Promotion for musicians: three separate stages for artists to perform their music (one inside the shop, one upstairs in our jam space and one in the courtyard out back). Recording and playing their music (freshly recorded in the upper level) in our café for everyone to hear.

Promote Art by display around the entire place.

In short, we want to provide creative people with an outlet to expand and move forward, to be able to network and further pursue the dream.

Did we mention we make a great cup of coffee?

Picture a scene from the show Friends but change the cafe to a speak easy and change Jennifer Aniston and all the other friends to poets of the past. Change the coffee to artesan coffee or the best whiskey cocktails ever. Then forget all that and pay attention to the live music. Super ya.

After not really liking my first cocktail I went to order a different drink when an ignorant staff member publicly accused me of being too intoxicated to drink. Perhaps he would understand that Australians have a different accent if he ever bothered to look outside his hipster bubble. Poor service indeed. Very disappointing!!!

Supportive of local arts, great live music nightly, great assortment of beverages both alcoholic and non, great, knowledge and friendly staff. It's a great place to socialize, or just hide and listen to music. Great place.

If you're looking for great drinks and baked goods (from Card's bakery) plus awesome selection of different live music offerings you've found it! This tucked away little spot is intimate and community oriented that makes you feel at home.

Musiikki is really a hub for all kinds of hotbed activity in Kingston's independent art scene and is helping to keep it alive, well, and thriving. Musiiki has been positioned at the forefront of cultural relevance and significance in Kingston in a remarkable amount of time. Not to mention; they are one of the best damn cafes/whiskey bars in North America. It plays the whole dark-and-smoky-hideaway-effect very well. Come see, it's rustic in rich tones with much more than meets the eye inside. Order the St-Ambroise Apricot Wheat Ale, it's my fave!
