I’ve wanted to see this museum for years and finally did. It was absolutely amazing and did not disappoint. A highly skilled glass blower just happened to be featured that day in the studio so I got to see experts in action along with narration and a video screen covering everything up close so you could see it from any seat in the studio. The museum was just the right size for me, all on one floor with only 2 or 3 galleries 4? - I personally don’t like huge museums that take hours to get through that, consequently, make me feel rushed and afraid I won’t see it all. How much can one person really take in and fully appreciate in one visit anyway?! I went mid week, early afternoon, off season, and there were few other people there in that particular day so I never felt crowded or pushed. The staff were friendly and there’s a nice little deli/restaurant with good coffee, desserts, salads, and a variety of meat and veggie sandwiches plus a nice high end$$ gift shop and clean bathrooms I counted 3 - what else could I have wanted? I was so impressed that I bought a membership and plan to take visiting guests next time they come to town. I drove 110 miles, one way, to see it and every mile was well worth it. I highly recommend this museum if you want to see glass blowing in action and the very creative, beautiful, and high quality end products that the artists create.
Came here on the museum promo Thursday don’t remember what it’s called exactly? so it was free! This museum was super cool, and I’m just so glad I get to visit it. There were many beautiful glass exhibits and interactive areas. Stories behind the art work was cool too. Suitable for all ages.nnThe glass making workshop was also a really cool place to stop by to watch people making glass products!! It was really warm in there, so I appreciate the drinking water provided at the entrance/exit.nnThe souvenir shop had good selection of items but sadly they didn’t have any snow globes!
Love this museum and its hot shop. Plenty of exhibits to look through and read about, but being able to watch demos and listen to speakers explain various aspects of the art… wonderful experience! Will definitely be returning as future guest artists are announced.
Last Friday was a beautifully, sunny day and I took a couple friends to see the Glass Bridge and outdoor displays.nnEven tho we didn’t go inside the museum itself, we were delighted to spend a couple hours looking at the architecture and stunning works of art. The gift shop itself is so amazing, it definitely means we have to return to see the whole museum!
This place is awesome for a day trip w the family. There's alot to see. There are displays that young kids made. These kids are pretty darn creative. You can watch them make the glass displays. There are a few glass towers out on the roof top which has water flowing from them. You can get wet. My grandkids had a blast.
