Story

LeMay - America’s Car Museum (ACM), named one of USA Today’s 10 Best Museums in Seattle and KING 5’s 2014 & 2015 Best Museum in Western Washington, is an international destination where families and enthusiasts gather to celebrate America’s love affair with the automobile. The stunning, four-level, 165,000-sq.-ft. Tacoma, Wash., facility features 12 rotating exhibits, five annual Signature Events and serves as an educational center, hosting students of all ages. Awesome stop in Tacoma! Definitely plan for 2-3 hours to fully enjoy it, and do not get drinks or snacks until the end, as they are very strict about keeping food & drink out of any area except the cafe. This is a glorious collection for any car, racing and history lover, complete with interactive games/activities for the kids. Save $$$ for the gift shop area, pretty pricey. Only complaint is that they need better handicap parking, but we will definitely be back.

The number of cars in this museum is impressive, as well as the architecture of the museum itself. The historical layout and explanations are both significant and intriguing. Children may enjoy the driving/ racing simulators, but I certainly did. The Classics by Pacific Grill cafe is a great pit stop with a nice view over the main floor of cars, which rotates themes and cars regularly.

Absolutely LOVED this place! What an amazing day me and my husband and our 2 year old had! So many awesome cars and even a kids section. The best part was the cafe. The view is amazing and the food is probably (not being dramatic) the most delicious food I have EVER eaten. Will be back very soon and many more times to come!! Edit: they also took our picture for free in a car and printed it out and gave it to us! (As well as emailed a copy to us!) super fun!

My girlfriend bought 2 VIP tickets to an event here. The package included drink tickets and food. There was live music too. Good food, local wineries, distillers and craft beer. Oh then there's the cars. What an incredible collection! From brass era cars with oil burning headlights to modern super cars and everything in between. It had been a long week and I only went because I felt obligated. My plan to only be there a short while changed really quick. We had a great time and ended up staying pretty late. I definitely recommend checking this place out. Thanks for a great night guys!

Great museum, lots of cars. Mostly American ranging from the 30's to the 70's. There are a few Italian and German exotics. Very few Japanese cars. I haven't been to any other North American car museums, but this one does have an impressive selection. Kids section was engaging and the child I was with really enjoyed it. Parking was ample on Saturday morning.
