This restaurant has some of the best Indian food I have had between here and Toronto. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful in selecting the dishes best for you. I would definitely add this to my list of favorite restaurants and highly recommend a great dining experience if you're visiting the Canmore area.
Delicious food, nice modern decor. Reminded us of times in Mumbai. Ordered prawn curry - came cooked inside a sealed coconut! - and mutton curry. Both were excellent. Loved the gluten-free roti and appreciated the Kingfisher beer :
Must try the Indian food at Mumbai Local when you are visiting Canmore/Banff. Food is delicious and presentation is amazing. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly, they recommend what to try if you are not familiar with the menu items. It was a full house on Monday evening. Thank you Mumbai Local for the delicious food .
We had an awkward welcome to the restaurant, however, the review is about the food and the service. 5 stars for the Food i.e. portion, taste, quality and freshness of produce. Maybe the person serving us assumed we weren’t aware of the gratuity and made a harsh comment which made us almost walk out of the restaurant right upon our arrival. We decided to stay and give the restaurant a chance. I’m glad we stayed over for some delicious food. We had 1-Missal Pav, 2-Pav Bhaji, 3- Egg curry, 4- Palak paneer, 5- Dal, Rice and Naan. Pictures might not justify the taste. We appreciate all the efforts by the staff in order to serve us some delicious food. Food is fairly priced, with good portions and fresh produce. The only two things we did provide them the feedback - 1. Tea was served at room temperature and when talked about it, they accepted their mistake and apologized right away. 2. Making assumptions and commenting about the gratuity upon our entry was something we didn’t anticipate nor appreciate. We were told about the gratuity as soon as we entered the restaurant and weren’t even welcomed.
This restaurant serves best Indian food We had so far in Alberta and Toronto. Friendly staff. The guy who helped us with their famous dishes was on point! The guy was knowledgeable and very helpful in selecting the dishes best for your requirements. Must try their Undhyu curry. It reminded me of my mom. Also try their Garlic naan. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a great dining experience. Enjoy mountain views from outdoor seating and equally good ambiance indoor seating! Washrooms were clean. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are visiting Canmore. Will come back again!
The best Indian food I have eaten not only in the Banff/Canmore region but also in Canada. We visited in 2021 when it was newly opened and had limited items on the menu. However the dishes were made to perfection and reminded us of our time back home. Very few places in North America manages such a feat in my opinion. Many visitors staying in Banff know little of this hidden gem and need to take a quick drive to canmore for mumbai local and know what Indian food the restaurant has to offer. Dishes tried - misal pav, sweet potato chat, sabudana popcorns, dal makhani etc. The owner was amazing to meet and talk to. The staff was very pleasant and had the most amazing experience. The service was fantastic.
We got a variety of dishes curries, naan bread, coconut calamari, etc. and found all of them delicious. A couple were on the spicier side, but there are a lot of milder options as well. There were only 2 servers so the service was a bit slower, but that's not the fault of the restaurant as it was a Saturday night and there is a labour shortage. The food was well worth the wait!
Amazing. After hearing that local legend Tony from Graze food and drink had started a new venture with some new partners at Mumbai Local, it was on my must try list. You can smell the food cooking as soon as you walk in and it just makes your mouth water. The food itself was delicious and very flavourful. The menu has a few unique items along with the traditional staples you’d expect from the cuisine. The portions are larger than I expected as well. Cannot recommend this place enough.
What a fantastic place to eat authentic and very delicious food. We were visiting Canmore for the first time and decided to stop by to try some local indian food. The staff was welcoming and took the time to explain the menu when necessary. We did not wait a long time for the food max 15 minutes and even if we had to wait longer, it would be absolutely worth it. We loved the food! They adapted the spice for the butter chicken and we were very happy with it. Strongly recommending this restaurant!
Really expensive food got 200 dollar bill between 5 people. Quantity was less. Food was not tasty as compare to price. Plate presentation was perfect. Service was poor. They forgot to give a biryani when we asked he was like oh it’s coming, still after that we waited almost 25 minutes and ended up to take out. Two star for the owner who built restaurant so beautifully. Reply to owner’s response: Big Thank you for letting me know that we can use the drive through, there is a other Indian restaurant too. I understand about your short staff and increase product prices. How do you know that we ordered biryani later?? As We ordered Biryani with the food, not after the food even we ordered everything in one time. after your so cool response I never suggest anyone to go there. Thanks for your time. Now you really deserve one star
