Multnomah County Health Department

I've seen the negative reviews of this place, but I've always had a positive experience. The dentists here are knowledgeable and helpful, and they don't push you to do anything that is unnecessary (like a lot of dentists are known to do nowadays). I have always had ease setting up appointments over the phone, but since the place is so busy, you have to schedule over a month in advance. I'm grateful to CareOregon Dental and this clinic for getting my mouth fixed up!

My older review was five stars and very kind hearted. However staff has changed up a bit so have certain procedures (IE they have another company answer their phones now making it impossible to get immediate access to your own information over the phone) the doctors that remain really are kinda second rate. Sad day indeed. I'm switching my PcP. Goodbye mchd

I am here looking to refer a friend. And I am shocked to see negative reviews. It was 3 - 4 years ago this place saved me. I was suffering from a large cavity and a broken tooth and had no money. They took care of me and allowed me to make small monthly payments.

All my interactions at this clinic have been with rude, unprofessional people who seem to hate you as much as they hate their job. If you have the option to go ANYWHERE ELSE, please do so. Here, you will be disappointed and receive sub par medical treatment. The people who work in the pharmacy are rude and impatient, despite me always moving very quickly and being patient with their disorganized mess of a pharmacy. They give you dirty looks the whole time. WHAT THE HELL? You can get better customer service from a drugged out gas station attendant. The people who answer the phone and do scheduling are also ridiculous. I get the feeling I have called some high school homecoming queen, and I'm interrupting her when she'd rather be talking on the phone with her boyfriend Chad. It's absurd. Charmaine was the only one who's name I got, though she was far from the worst. When I spoke with her there was nothing but hostility from the first second she answered the phone. She spoke in single syllables, barking things out at me instead of forming complete sentences like an adult. I was doing my best to be completely polite to her (I was employing more customer service skills than she was), but ultimately I became so frustrated that I angrily told her I would never be coming back to their clinic again. My doctor is even worse. She is unhealthy, unhappy, unattentive... She looks like she's about to keel over at any moment if she doesn't jump off a bridge first. I am a musician, and my frequent use of earplugs causes a build up of earwax that can actually injure your ear drum and lead to hearing loss. I asked her to check for this, she begrudgingly looked for two seconds and told me there was nothing, as if I was wasting her time. Only DAYS later I had an urgent care doctor check, they discovered a massive buildup that could have easily damaged my eardrum. Is this the kind of treatment you want?

Unreasonable waits, unavailable doctors and a nurse that used her gloved hand to open a door and "step out for a second" before coming back in to try to examine my pelvis with same gloved hand! :(
