Dude was super nice when I ordered. Asked him what I should get he recommended the tacos a quick bite to eat. The only thing I would say is when I walked in the steak that was on the grill ended up being mine, personally I’m not a fan of charred steak however the sauces they put in here taste really good and I can imagine had the steak not been so hard black the flavour of them would’ve tasted so much better. But ultimately for literally going in and out within 5 minutes of ordering and for $12 it’s a 4.5 star from me. Parking: The parking is off another street but no more than 20 steps away, probably put in a dollar and you’ll be fine for time. But if you go at peak hours at least give yourself something to fall back on.
I stopped by Mr. Fez during a bustling lunch hour on a Thursday, and it was a delightful surprise. The menu offered a wonderfully different twist on the classic shawarma that left my taste buds dancing with excitement. I opted for the large shawarma, and it turned out to be more than adequate to satiate my lunchtime hunger pangs. The portion was generous, and the flavors were a harmonious blend of spices and textures that made each bite a treat. What truly impressed me was the speed and efficiency of their service. Despite the busy lunch rush, my order was prepared and served promptly, allowing me to enjoy my meal without any unnecessary delays. Mr. Fez offers a refreshing take on shawarma, ample portions, and impeccable service. It's the perfect spot for a quick and satisfying lunch break.
I hadn't been back here since it became Mr. Fez and wow, I really enjoyed my shawarma wrap. I love the homemade roti they make it on, I much prefer it over pita. The wrap was so juicy and delicious. They also do shawarma salads for lunch which I have yet to try.Food: 5/5
Very welcoming place. Gentleman service helping me out. It's definitely a tiny spot but I feel the price is commensurate. Wished the portion was a little more generous compared to other locations. Flavour was good and the sides were well put together.Food: 4/5
Amazing Shawerma.. probably the best in the Ottawa region hands down. Service is also great and customer oriented.. the authenticity of the food and how it is done is second to none. I highly recommend the pomegranate molasses on the sandwiches and plates, a stable Syrian tradition on Shawerma Bravo Bravo bravo
I came here over 5 times now and everytime its consistent, the bread they use is super unique, the melody of the pomegranate sauce and the rest of the ingredients mixes up really well making every bit of the wrap a delight. As a result its a hands down best Shawarma in the city , as It makes me come from Barrhaven to downtown and skip all the shawarma places in between.
An amazing addition to the shawarma scene in Ottawa. The owners son was so nice and I love his creativity. The secret sauce is a nice mixup that the shawarma industry needs and was really nice. Definetly in my top 5 places for a shawarma in the city, I could easily rate it higher then others with a stronger/fluffier garlic sauce, but thats a preference of my tastes. The potatoes are the softer kind and crunchy and I highly recommend it with some hummus. Ask for the secret salad!
My first time trying their authentic beef shawarma is unlike anything in Ottawa! Where other spots incorporate more of a donair approach, Mr. Fez brings out the big guns with a close to reality shawarma that uses Saj instead of pita. Definitely refreshing to see, especially since there aren't too many restaurants that serve traditional shawarma. To add, the pomegranate molasses is amazing!
We ate there last night the 129 Bank St store. I ordered the mixed shawarma plate and my wife got a chicken shawarma. This morning, for breakfast, I finished yesterday's leftovers that I had to bring back to the hotel. Needless to say, the portions were very generous, but the taste and the quality of the food was also excellent! The fellow who served us was very friendly and we chatted with him a bit. He made us feel very welcome. I swear, if I worked anywhere near here, I would be in Mr Fez for lunch at least once per week. The food & service was so incredible.
I came from Vancouver and I was looking for the best shawarma in Ottawa and I found this The restaurant and it was amazing. The Arabic shawarma is the best and a satisfying size for a personFood: 5/5
