Story

THE MOVATI ATHLETIC STORY

Our story begins in September 1997 with the establishment of our very first health club. Right from the very beginning, we knew we wanted to create a fitness experience that went beyond just working out. We wanted to create a place where real people felt at home. Where they would receive expert advice in a caring atmosphere and ultimately be able to push themselves to achieve things they never thought possible.

What began as one club has now grown to 13, with more on the way. We continue to hire exceptional, caring people, adding to our family of Movati Athletic employees currently working hard to ensure you always feel welcome, comfortable and healthy.

Our clubs are spacious, modern environments where no corner has been cut in our quest to offer our members the best facilities.

We work so hard because we truly believe in what we do. Every day we are helping our members improve their quality of life, little by little, step by step, pound by pound. We love seeing them change their lives in such wonderful, positive ways, and it's this that drives us forward, motivating us to keep providing the highest levels of service, courtesy and care for all our members.

nnI absolutely love this gym! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by how clean and well-maintained everything is. It's clear that the staff takes pride in keeping the place spotless.nnThe variety of machines and equipment is fantastic; I never have to wait to use anything. Plus, the atmosphere is always friendly and motivating, thanks to the great people who work out here.nnBut what really sets this gym apart are the amenities. The steam shower is a game-changer after a tough workout. It's so relaxing and rejuvenating. And let's not forget about the other perks like the spacious locker rooms and top-notch facilities.nnOverall, this gym has everything I need and more. If you're looking for a clean, well-equipped gym with friendly staff and amazing amenities, look no further!
Best show in town in Guelph if you can afford it. The instructors are top notch for the most part.nnThe class booking system works well.nnThis club has everything ... Fitness classes, yoga classes, and a pool. If you pick the right instructor, the old classes are on par with a dedicated yoga studio.nnMovarti is the only place to be for Zumba in Guelph, and they have the best instructors around.
*UPDATE* MOVATI has improved the layout of the women’s only area since I wrote my original review below. Many machines have been fixed and I haven’t detected the odour previously mentioned the last few times I’ve been at the gym. Good work to management and their team working on improvements. Therefore I’ve changed my rating from 1 to 4 stars.nnMy previous review:nI switched to Movati over a year ago after leaving another gym in Guelph. I decided to pay slightly more for more services and amenities. Unfortunately I have found Movati does not prioritize the needs of its members equally.nnSeveral things have been bothering me for a while about Movati particularly the smell of burnt broccoli that can often be smelled throughout the gym but what led me to write this review is the blatant neglect of the women’s only area.nnIt has always bothered me that there is only ONE squat rack in the women’s section but over 10 treadmills. I almost always have to superset with someone or wait a while to have a turn on the squat rack because there is high demand for it.nnThe reason I’m writing this review is because it appears the women’s only area has become a storage space for broken and dysfunctional equipment photos attached. The women’s weight area is already small and crowded, there is now completely unusable equipment strewn about the area. Not only is it annoying, I find it disrespectful. I regularly use the co-Ed section but prefer to do glute exercises in the women’s section. I’ve never seen broken equipment stored in the co-Ed area despite it being a much larger space.nnIn conclusion, I hope they add more squat racks to the women’s section, move all the broken equipment out of the way, and identify the source of the burnt broccoli smell.
Equipment and amenities are in good shape, but the quality of the Personal Trainers is what sets Movati apart from other gyms. In six months of working with Lachlun I made gains that I still can’t believe. This guy is legit.
Amazing gym that I was able to use for free for staying at the Delta across the way. Its clean and has friendly staff. So many cardio and weight machines. Part of the gym is female only if that is what you prefer. I was unable to use all of the amenities such as the pool, sauna and showers. This gym also offers group classes, but unfortunately I was unable to try as time didn't allow it.nnI recommend this gym over the gym inside the Delta hotel.
