It is our first time there. We ordered the curry chicken. I so love it. The curry chicken has the pineapple and bamboo shoot, it is very tasty. We also ordered the rice in a pot. I really like it, as the bottom of the rice was not oily but very crispy. The meal came with the soup. I love the soup. It has lot of vegetables in the soup. Just love it very much. We also ordered the baked pork chop in tomato sauce. This one we found the sauce a bit too sweet, which we don't like it much. The pork chop was thick, juicy and lean, but it would be perfect if the fat around it was trimmed, Overall we enjoy eating there, the person who served us was very nice. I definitely will go again to try their breakfast and tea. I recommend this restaurant to my friends.
Tea is flavorful, just like HK tea. Real hot pot rice. Waited 20 minutes. Worth the wait. Lots of preserved meat. Rice at bottom of the pot is not overly burnt. Just right amount of crispiness. Nice aroma because they used a real iron pot. Satay soup is very good. Not too spicy hot. Not too bland. Price is very reasonable and service is good. Will definitely come again for breakfast.
Nice HK style restaurant. The service was good and prompt. Dishes including the soup had nice flavor and good portion size. Would have been perfect if the drink tastes better. Price is very fair and cute decor!! Keep up the good work.
Great neighbourhood HK cafe! Very reasonable priced for their massive portions! Most of their main dishes come with a soup and drink. The black pepper chicken steak was a generous portion and delicious! The pineapple curry was interesting as it had fresh pineapple slices and large chunks of beef brisket. It came with a huge plate of lightly egg fried rice. The noodle dish came in a big bowl with home made cuttle fish balls that had a great bouncy texture. The only thing I didn’t really like was the spaghetti bolognese- the sauce I feel like wasn’t the typical sweet HK cafe bolognese sauce and I didn’t like that they had celery bits in there. But overall the prices were amazing for what you get!
A very friendly family restaurant that offers authentic HK cafe dishes! Generous portion and taste great. We love everything we ordered! Will definitely be back.
Overall value a solid 4-4.3 stars. We tried black pepper sauce chicken steak and pineapple beef brisket curry and both were very good. The portion was generous for the price. While I personally find the interior decor to not be particularly appealing, my friend who grew up in HK had strong emotional reactions towards how everything looks the same as what her childhood memory was at a canteen, so I guess that's what the owner was going for, replicating an authentic HK cafe experience The menu items are less than what I normally expect of a HK cafe but I would definitely go back to try more items again! It's also a good take out option. The service was friendly and quick and the overall experience was pleasant. Would recommend my friends to try!
We ordered the choice of 3 item claypot rice spareribs and preserved sausage and pork served with HK style borscht soup and the curry cutlet pork rice served with a drink. Note that the Claypot rice takes 20 minutes to cook. The dishes come with sooo much rice, excessive even because there wasn't quite enough toppings on the Claypot rice to match the rice, and likewise for the amount of curry sauce in relation to the rice. The portions are certainly generous for the price but could be better balanced. The spareribs were quite tender and marinated well but some of the preserved pork belly slices were just entirely fat. I was impressed that there's actually a layer of crispy rice for this dish for takeout! I assume they make it in the Claypot before putting in a takeout container. The curry sauce tastes a lot like Portugese sauce and I found the curry dish to lean on the sweet side. The soup is surprisingly good with lots of vegetables, lots of tomato flavour and an underlying savoury flavour from perhaps some pork or beef bones. The HK milk tea is very watered down and definitely needs more tea flavour.
First time here for afternoon tea meal. Good value and the chicken leg $7.99 was very delicious. The mango salad was very fresh too. Milk tea hot was smooth and hot.
Staff there were friendly and helpful. Great prices for their meals. I forgot to take more pictures. The server recommended the curry and I really enjoyed the curry. It had bits of pineapple in it. Will definitely be back to try their other items.
Ordered the pineapple curry chicken and minced meat salted fish rice pot. Fresh made on order, Very delicious and yummy. Will go again.
