Beautiful, contrasting natural colors good for babies, kids, adults and elderly. Great mini river that comes through and it was joyful to see dogs &kids swimming in a safe zone away from the main body of water. Lovely sight seeing. Perfect getaway, good for weddings, not good for a sit down picnic on sand because it is very wet and has frequent high tides.
This Beach is welcoming to families with small children since there are areas of shallow water somewhat enclosed and separated from the deeper waters. Walking up to the start of the beach is an interesting little cave you can walk into when the tide allows. Also worthy of mention is a cliff for rock climbing that drops down onto the beach.
Easily accessible for the average person, small parking lot. Not handicapped accessible. We had no troubles at 4:00pm finding a parking spot, or a place in the sand. Didn't see a restroom, but we were only there for an hour. Very sandy, found an occasional shell. Not crowded, but I imagine it would be during peak hours. Gorgeous. Looking forward to going back tomorrow.
Moonstone beach is a local classic. The sand is soft and great to walk in barefoot. The water is shallow and you can play around in it without much worry as long as you can handle the cold. The estuary also creates really cool interactions between the tides, waves, and the river itself. 10/10 recommend coming here.
Always amazing. Super dog friendly. Come Friday PM for doggy social hour. My Anatolian X made so many friends. Little river is fun for freshwater.
To the north side of the beach - Cliffs and rocks attract novice rock climbers and form private hollows for sunbathers. A cave that can be entered when the tide is low. A thicket of trees that give shelter from the sun. To the south - The Little River cuts a serpentine path into the Pacific Ocean. Miles of wide open beach where fewer people tend to venture.
This place is awesome for families with kids because they can play in the river without worry of the waves. However, the waves are close if you want that too, exploration, caves, shells, sand dollars, rocks, sand, ravens, crows, sea gulls, there is so much here.
Loved it, nice day. Clean beach, pretty little cove off to side. Decent parking area. Free
This time there was strong wind and hordes of people plus a surfing class with dozens of teens. Our grandchildren enjoyed the sand and river water. The potty was so full of it, ugh.
Great beach. I recommend going …many times over.
