Mon Thong Thai Food Restaurant - Kelowna Orchard Plaza

We had the most amazing experience at the Mon Thong on Cooper. The food was great, and the service was excellent. The owner treated our kids like gold, even brought out a free dessert for them. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Terrible, Hateful Server My husband and I had eaten at this restaurant once before and really enjoyed it. So today we thought we would stop in for lunch. It was 11:50 am when we walked in and there were two other tables. We waited and waited to be seated. No one came. I coughed a few times hoping someone would hear. While we were waiting, two other ladies along came in and waited behind us. By 12:00 noon they gave up and walked out. My husband walked to the back area to see if he could find someone. When my husband came back from the back the man following him looked so angry I assumed he must have argued with my husband so I pointed to the door, silently asking my husband if we were leaving... My husband says "No, we are staying," I went and joined my husband at the booth and the server slammed the menus down with the power of a punch, turned and stalked away, Never even acknowledged us with a spoken word, I was so startled I jumped in my seat at how hard he slammed those menus down, I looked up at him but he was already walking away. My husband then said "that's it" and we got up and walked out. I have never felt so much so much disrespect, anger and hostility aimed at me in public before. I just wanted some lunch.

Servers, cooks nor busboys receive the generous tips you leave for the great food and service. The owner keeps these while paying minimum wage. Since the rightful owners do not receive the tips, i would suggest not leaving one at all!?!?!?!

I was cold inside the restaurant cuz they might forget open the heater and it is winter outside. The wait for two lunch dishes are approximately 40 minutes and more. The chicken is dry AF. Flavor is too lite to be considered flavored. Vegetables taste like pure water cooked and not even fully cooked. The price for the dishe is somewhat 12 to 15 bucks. Plates are not clean. I would not come to this place again. I am not saying this restaurant is bad, just personally don't like it.
