Best sushi place in town! The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious! I have been to Japan 3 times and this is definitely the best sushi place in town. Would highly recommend this place! :D

Randomly stopped here when we decided we didnt want Wendys or Arbys...holy are we happy we did that! Food is great, service is prompt. The vibe of the restaurant is very authentic. We have gone back twice and still the same level of service. Very impressed.

Hide Takahashi, owner and head chef of Mabui, will not stoop low enough to serve you a huge sloppy sushi roll. Instead he will prepare a meal of excellent and authentic Japanese cuisine. He takes pride in what comes to your table. He and the other chefs create dishes that represent different regions of Japan, ensuring a lively variety of Japanese food. After moving here from Vancouver, I was very pleased to find a Japanese restaurant in Kelowna that rivals some, and surpasses most, of the best in Vancouver. Great sake selection too.

Pure and proper Japanese cuisine, a rare find in a crowded market of sushi joints. Beautifully presented, everything is crafted with deliberation and care. The sushi chef is a master, without question some of the best fish I have ever eaten, the quality of cuts and handling was true artistry. They use real wasabi which is not common anymore. Niku udon was delicate perfection, they make real dashi here I can tell. I could pick through the menu for days, I literally went here two days in a row it was so good! Highly recommended for fans of proper Japanese cuisine.

I'm really surprised to see all these 5 star reviews. I've been to many Japanese restaurants, and the sushi rolls were sub par at best and overpriced for what you get. The ebi sunomono is like nothing I've ever tasted before (and not in a good way!) Our waitress was passive aggressive and left us waiting for long stretches, however still made eye contact from afar. Will take our business elsewhere in the future.
