Momma Rose Soul Food

Lawd...wish I had looked deeper into the reviews before ordering. Only thing good on this plate was the yams. Mac n cheese: dry. Rice: unseasoned and undercooked. Smothered chicken: just shy of okay. Jerk chicken: spicy yes but that’s it. Making something spicy isn’t seasoning. Pepper is not “spice”. Unseasoned. And it honestly chewed like rubber. I tasted Angelea’s soul food in BP and I thought it would be the same but sadly ... it’s WAY off.

Food is bomb and definitely what I was looking for. Only reason they got 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the cashier. He was kinda rude and I felt like he was rushing me. Plus it was my first time there so when i asked a few questions and he couldn't give me the answer I just ordered.

They must be under new management because this food was absolutely awful. Just awful. Gritty greens tasted like they were cooked in a rusty pot that was cleaned with degreaser, Mac and cheese were mushy and the sweet potatoes looked and tasted like Gerber baby food. I can’t believe I cheated on my diet for this. HIGHLY disappointed. Frankly, I’m insulted.

The food is delicious and the service is so quick wow. Jerk chicken and rice. If you love spicy food get that. Had me sweating.

I liked the food it was good. Would give 5 stars if there wasn't a bunch of crack heads hanging around the area. Be careful. You'll have people just walk up to you and harass you. Again the food was good. Should be okay to stop by here around 1pm but keep watchful. If you have a right to carry a concealed handguns I would bring it.

They're back open for business under new management. The atmosphere is good the neighborhood is ok. New management new cooks, clean establishment and a warm inviting environment. Service was friendly and

It was support your local business weekend! So, I was happy to run across this place. Black owned, what more could I ask for! First the cashier wasn't enthused to see me. Everything I wanted they didn't have. I set for 10 minutes plus for my small order. Then the man packed my order in, to go, and shortly after the lights were turned off. Food was average, nothing great! But, want say I want go back! There black owned, I'll give them another try!

Man, this food is GOOD! I've had their smothered chicken and rice, smothered chop steak and rice, collard greens, cabbage, pinto beans, black eyed peas, mac and cheese, caramel cake, and peach cobbler so far. Oh, and corn bread. Hubby has had fried catfish and chicken wings...he tends to stick to the same things. My mission is to try the whole menu because everything I've had in my 3 trips so far has been delicious. Food is flavorful but not salty. Desserts are just perfect. The guys that work there are helpful and efficient. Food is always hot. I don't know who Mama Ann is but she got this one right.

The cornbread was over cooked the greens was under cooked and tasted burnt couldn't use the bathroom said they keep it locked cause people go in there to get high even tho I was a paying customer. Not a good choice too eat and way to expensive for the food and service I got not happy camper gross place the people that took my order and cooked looked like they was the people using the bathroom for the wrong reasons if you kno what I mean not recommend at all....

I wish I didn't have to give any stars! I will be making sure the entire world knows how horrible this place is. The lady who answered the phone when I called told me to come in person so we can fight because she didn't like the fact that I was upset about the items missing from my order. The items that did arrive are disgusting. Food came in a Cub food grocery bag. This place is the worst food I ever seen in my life! I will never eat at this place again!!! Customer service was the worst! I've never been invited to fight from a restaurant employee. She should be fired. Horrible, horrible, horrible!!!!
