The woman at the desk and the woman who called me in were absolutely lovely. This review has nothing to do with them. That being said, I had an issue with my prescription from my family doctor who has recently moved away. I’m currently between doctors but have had a few initial appointments booked months ago that I wasn’t able to get any earlier than next month. My family doctor set me up with more than enough refills to tide me over until I could get a new family doctor but because of a mix up in the way she wrote it I was only able to refill a part of my dosage this month and it was recommended to me from my old clinic that I go to a walk in to get access to the rest. Unfortunately I don’t remember the doctor’s name but when I explained all of this to him he immediately treated me with the most blatant disrespect I’ve ever received from someone in his position. I was berated for not getting a new family doctor earlier and was told that if I tried to come back for another refill when he provided me a 30 day prescription that he would not be filling it. It’s not huge leap to read into what he was implying. All he had to do was explain that he was uncomfortable giving me enough refills to match up with the refills I have available for the rest of my dosage due to the nature of the medication and I would have completely understood. Perhaps this doctor should be given a reminder that wait times for family doctors that are accepting new clients are insanely long. And that it’s doctors like his that have made it so rather than trying to get a family doctor who had an earlier appointment time, I went with who my doctor recommended because she was the first one I’ve had who has treated me with respect and who I knew I could trust. Regardless of someone’s intentions when coming to a doctor for help, no one deserves to be treated with the complete lack of respect that I received today. This doctor should not be practicing medicine as he so clearly has no control over letting his own biases cloud his ability to help people.
The female physicians I have seen at this clinic have been excellent. Every male physician they seem to be the majority has been extremely dismissive and had terrible Interpersonal skills. I’d recommend avoiding this place or calling ahead to ensure a female doctor is available.
Love 'em or not, this clinic is the one that opens the latest on weekdays and on weekends for walk-ins. Some of the doctors are not the best, most are very good and corteous. In any case, thankful for their hard work.
Very unprofessional and poor management of patient records. Over the years I have had voice mails left with other people's test information. Several weeks ago I was called in stating there was an issue with my ultrasound results as Im pregnant and I needed to speak with a doctor immediately. When I did they had no idea what I was talking about as my results were normal. Their explanation was that a note was left on the file for the receptionist to inform me the doctor would be on vacation and somehow that message was screwed up. One month later they forgot to cancel my appointment as they decided to close the office on Septmeber 19th.
I'm glad I'm no longer using this clinic, I don't need to see a doctor often so I stayed a patient for a few years but always left feeling frustrated whenever I visited. I understand that most doctors want to bill AHS as much as possible but to leave you waiting in a room for 20+ minutes is frustrating and unnecessary. Communication with reception staff is difficult and often abrupt - when working in a healthcare environment I feel it's important for support staff to be more sensitive to people's needs. Often people are unwell, in pain, frustrated, emotional - it's not a carwash or supermarket. I was a patient of Dr Sharif who was only acceptable. I got the medication I require. Though, other issues I brought to her were dismissed without further examination or discussion. I didn't feel 'listened to' and often left feeling frustrated and upset. I would not recommend this clinic, not an example of good healthcare in my experience.
In april I went here because I had some sort of, what i thought, a UTI infection. I'm unfortunately prone to them. Turns out it was a bladder infection. Tested and given a prescription in the appointment so I could finally get some relief after an awful weekend of incredible pain. It was at least a week long wait to get in and see my family doctor at the time. Today, I went in asking for a social worker. To get setup with one because again. It would be a 2 week long wait to see my family doctor. I've been surviving on less then $450/month. He was incredibly dismissive, waved me off. Did not even log into his portal on the computer. Within the span of less then five minutes, didnt listen, dismissed me and said basically you come in and want me to sign papers, I'm going to speak over you and not take you seriously at all. He lied to my face. Wouldn't listen and now I have to wait till July 7th. I'm sick of Alberta healthcare
The worst experience ever!! I saw doctor Hossain, Md Zakir 2 times and both times he showed his lack of knowledge of diseases. He even didn't know what is parasite! Any question that I was asking he was saying that he doesn't know the reason and it doesn't need more investigation to it!! I told him that I am feeling sick and so worried but he left the room without paying attention and asked me to leave the room. I told him that I am talking to him but he said that he is done with me and has no answer for me! I need to see my family doctor he said. I really don't understand that what is his position there as walk in doctor? To ignore patients with rude manner and having no knowledge! Even when I was trying to show him my pain he was typing and not looking at me! Worst experience ever! You are going to get more information about your sickness searching in Google!
You are only good if you have your family doctor attending you. If walk in, it's different. My wife had a very bad experience with Dr. Hussain, who attends only "one issue at one time". Had I been there, I would have mentioned, "you are a very bad doctor" there on his face.
Avoid Dr.Hossein at all costs! There are several other reviews about this guy too! Dr.Hossein was completely dismissive and made rude comments and implications that I did not appreciate at all. It also just felt like he just wanted to go home. He explained nothing to me and rushed me out the door without even making eye contact with me once during our visit. He could not have cared less about helping his patient! Dr.Hossein clearly doesn't care about anything but his paycheck... Shameful! All this after waiting for 1.5 hours...
I’m from Ontario, in Calgary for a funeral. I needed stitches removed and after two previous clinic stops Mission looked after me. There was no line up that afternoon, Wednesday, July 30. They were Fast, kind and friendly. Thank you.
