Minos Village Restaurant

We went here for date night and they had a fixed prix menu for the night. Ordered the spanakopita appetizer - flavour was good but was soggy not crispy. Main was lamb with shrimp. Lamb was cooked perfect on some pieces and others were over. Shrimp wasn't flavorful. Dessert was awesome. Overall could have been better.

My recent visit to Minos was with a small group. We get together for lunch the first Friday of each month and Minos looked after us very well. It's a very large restaurant but with a few walls and floor to ceiling plants it feels very intimate. We've been there many times over the years typically on a special occasion. I always start with a Greek wine such as a red Apelia. That's followed with a large salad with lots of feta cheese and then a big plate full of a tasty main course. If I still have any room, I finish dinner with a delicious Greek cake. The server is always very experienced and professional. The price is on the higher end but is worth it for the special occasion.

My husband, daughter and I went 10/15/17 and the visit was rather disappointing. We have been on several occasions and the meal has been great which is why we chose it this time. Salad was turning brown like it had been sitting, got the prime rib for my husband and I which was main reason for going. It looked medium rare on one side and pan seared on the under side and was by no means the usual thickness or flavour. My daughter had souvlaki and said that was great tasting though. The waitress at no point came back to ask how our meals were. It was as though they didn't want to ask so they didn't come back until they wanted to ask if we wanted dessert. My husband also asked for decaf coffee which the server said she would have to go make and it seemed like it was an incovenience more than anything. Think it will be some time before we attempt this location again sadly.

For years, Minos was great... but lately it appears they're getting cheap with portions and of course raising cost. Just this evening Oct. 14/17 I ordered a Chicken Brochette Petit, asked for NO Veggies, Extra rice with a cup of gravy on the side, and 2 more skewers. What do I get? Half as much rice as normal, a huge pile of veggies/potatoes, saturated in gravy plus extra gravy in a cup. Complete opposite of what I ordered... it was like burning $30. Extremely disappointed... guess that's one more place I have to think long and hard before ordering again. :(

Server was great, as I walked-in and was welcomed I knew I was in for a great time! Server was very knowledgeable of the menu, his suggestions were spot on! This will be my secret place for Sunday's dinner.
