Great district. I just wish that they would listen to the parents and take more suggestions, and less random days off and more summer days! :D

I recently had an incident where the maintenance man from MPS on Broadway was mowing the lawn while I was working at an apartment building across the street. The maintenance man ended up busting my window from a rock that shot out of his mower now you would think that MPS would take care of it no problem, I've been dealing with a lady named Dawn Solstys and been getting nothing but a run around she's been unprofessional and very rude and I can't believe this is how MPS conducts themselves when it comes to accountability and responsibility. The crazy thing is the apartment building I work at caught the maintenance manwhen he busted my window on video tape and I showed it to Dawn and at first she said no problem we'll take care of it now she's telling me after seeing the video tape that HER video tapes don't show that it's their fault, wow, quick change of tune on their part. Don't know how much more proof they should need than that, but I guess $200 is too much for them to pay. What makes it so bad is that I've got a 3 year old and a 1 year old that ride around in my car and I can't even bring them anywhere because I don't have a window. I explained to the school, Dawn, that I have a $500 deductible so I can't run it through my insurance and since it's their fault they should just pay for it but they've been brushing me off for weeks now so if this is how they handle their claims like this, a very small claim mind you, then I can't imagine it being a very good school to send your children because how would MPS respond if you CHILD had a major incident? The way that they've handled this issue, I would never consider sending my kids to any of their schools. I've been redirected to the legal department and I'm still waiting to find out how they're going to resolve this I will keep you posted we'll see how long this takes. I'm guessing the snow will be flying long before this issue gets resolved. I will probably end up having to go to court and I'm wondering if News Channel or Newspaper would be interested in this story. #verydissappointed

HR does not know what it's doing. JO gave me a paper form last August to fill in for deferred pay over this summer. Even phoned her to double check on this. She verified I was signed up for 26 pay. Learned today no summer paychecks. Now I'm screwed because she dropped the ball. She was at a complete loss to explain herself. Don't bother working in this district. Left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. District is too big to present any semblance of unity among its ranks. Best opportunity yet to find a decent employer.

As a parent this program is the worst. Quyen Phan has already preconceived that the students are failures and the science teacher Erik Miller was horrible. After reading the description of the program I'm not sure if the district really realizes how FALSE that description is. They give deadlines and the don't hold the teachers accountable for being available through the end of the deadlines and then fail the kids. That's not student achievement. That not student support. and it's not student success. Perhaps the high school program staff should be revamped with people who care because the 2 named above DO NOT.
