We had an excellent breakfast, eggs Benny was done perfectly. Our waitress was super helpful in navigating the menu and even recommended the milkshake. It was the best milkshake I have ever had in my life. I highly recommend, if you go you must order the milkshake!
Our party of 8 needed to be at work at 11 am. Arrived at the Minden 50s Diner at 9:30 am. Two tables were already occupied.Was served coffee within 10 minutes. The 2 tables quickly emptied and more tables filled. Waitress didn’t take our orders till around 10 am. Other people who arrived after us were served and had left while we patiently waited for our food. At 10:30 summoned the waitress and reminded her that we needed our meals because we need to be at work at 11. She snapped, “Can’t you see the place is full?” It clearly wasn’t full when we arrived a full hour earlier. Our meals were served by a different waitress at 10:40. See pic of overcooked Classic Breakfast they brought me. The dark lumps are supposed to be home fries. Most of our group ended up having to take theirs to go. I ran out of time and took my bacon with me in a napkin. The whole experience was truly awful. I would work on an empty stomach before going back.
We went there twice over 3 days. Dinner the first time - we arrived at 530 and there were 3 other groups seated already 1 right before we arrived and then it quickly filled up. She promptly took our orders but it was a bit slow coming out. We ordered a Caesar side salad delicious, penned Alfredo tasty, large serving that we brought most of in a take away container, kids penned with butter and cheese - this wasn't very good as the noodles didn't seem cooked enough. Poutine was good, chicken Caesar wrap was enjoyed as was my BLT I asked for an added fried egg into the sandwich and it was really good. Some other reviewer said they were shorted on bacon, I had plenty and it was real bacon not the microwave type.I enjoyed the fries that were on the side too. The only real downside was the wait time to get the food, our takeaway Container and the bill - I attribute that to the lone waitress not having another person helping out as it was quick busy - waitress was great, just needed another one helping out so it wasn't all on her shoulders.nnBreakfast today, not as busy this morning, everything was pretty quick - only downside was there was no steak that hubby was hoping to order steak and eggs so he got the grand slam breakfast platter which he enjoyed. Two of us ordered French toast delicious! 1 plate of pancakes 3 HUGE! and a kids pancake 1 HUGE! with a sausage that we asked to change to bacon which was no problem. Wished all of the breakfast items were available all day.

This is a diamond in the rough. Just a great atmosphere and amazing people serving top notch food. If you are in Minden and want to enjoy a great breakfast, this is the stop to make!
