Mike's Submarine

This place is a total rip off, do not waste your time or money. I went in and got two subs for takeout the way they have the counter set up you can’t really see them making your sub so I just took for granted that just like any other sub I have ever eaten it had the usual amount of toppings, I was wrong it had nothing on it the meat I could see through it was so thin all the toppings were so thin you couldn’t taste them, the sub just tasted like a old stale bun. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION This review shouldn’t reflect on any other mikes subs location as every other one I have been too has been great!

This location is nothing like Ottawa St or the Fennell location. We ordered from here a couple of years ago b/c my husband grew up around the corner and this was his local Mike's. The subs were dry and comically cheap on toppings, we decided not to return. Yesterday, my best friend was in the hospital after having just had a baby and she wanted an Ottawa st Mike's sub since she hasn’t been able to have deli meat throughout the pregnancy. My husband was coming from Flamborough so he stopped at the Upper James location out of convenience. When he told me where he was I said “that’s the bad location”. He assured me that it was new owners, it looked clean and the man working was very nice. Unfortunately, it was everything I remembered from before. The meat was as thin as you could cut it and the toppings were barely there. Each half had 2 pickle coins. I ended up taking all of the toppings and putting them on one half to make it edible. We bought 4 assorted subs, 2 chocolate milks and a pop for $42.66. So disappointing that they don’t provide the same quality as the better locations.

On Sat April 8th I went here to order 2 subs. the young lady behind the counter was on a speaker phone call with her brother she said. I after chatting with him for 30 seconds she asked me what I wanted. I told her the 2 subs and she only made 1 as she continued to chat on speaker phone with her brother in some foreign language. She was so distracted she kept forgetting what i wanted, I told her: tell your brother you have a customer and you will call him back. she seemed annoyed at that. I paid my bill of $39.90 for 2 subs and noticed she over charged me $12 due to being distracted. I brought this to her attention. I think the owner should have a chat with her about good customer service and to tell her no personal calls during work. A very frustrating experience...

I don’t know if this one is run by the same people at the other locations but we are huge fans of mikes subs so when we had a family dinner we suggested mikes subs because the other locations have never steered us wrong! They have always been amazing! This was absolutely terrible! We ordered through Uber and ALL the notes were missed, the subs were like rock hard, and not the same as the usual ones we get from the other locations. The quality was just absolutely horrid. Barely any lettuce, barely any meat, probably one of the worst subs we have all had and we spent almost $100. Hoping it is only this location and the other locations haven’t gone south as well.

I agree with other reviews. Total rip off. The meat was paper thin and the olives and hot peppers were non existent!! All we could taste was the bun. This store needs to be audited!

Decided to stop by for a quick dinner for take out. Each slice of meat is so thin & can literally see through it. Sub sauce was too oily - left oil marks on my table. The toppings are also sliced thin + stingy. Would not recommend.

My chicken and bacon on my sub was microwaved was still cold. The tray they used was disgusting and looks like it has never been cleaned. 15$ for a sub with barley anything chicken. The lady said they did not offer combos

New owners? Went in today and was very disappointed. Barely any meat on my ham sub, very light on all toppings and the bun was stale. My colleague had the same complaints about his, too. Sadly, won't be back.

Got the ham sub special for the day with the smallest amount of meat. The cheese was thicker than the two slices of ham.Food: 1/5
