2022 July 3.5 A small restaurant serving the community. There's about 8 to 10 tables in all. Step inside and it's a bit retro with the theme of a Midway dinner as the name suggests. Breakfast wrap $8.99 It's ok. Nicely done. Pretty much as expected. BLT $7.99 Bacon lettuce and tomatoes. Pretty standard faire here. Nothing bad. Done well. Breakfast poutine $11.99 The hash itself is cut up potatoes pan fried. Would be better if it was deep fried IMO. The peameal bacon adds a good saltiness in the poutine. The eggs were done very well. Overall not bad. Just so happens to be on front of a bus stop. Also conveniently located near centennial beach. Note - on Weekends they only serve breakfast. Worth a visit.
Came in this morning after googling breakfast places. I've driven by this place so many times before and now regret I never checked it out. It's one of those places you kinda see but don't see. Well, I'm happy to report after seeing it on Google we decided to come in and it's now my new best breakfast place to go and it's in Barrie! It's a small place, I like the decor, menu is on the wall. It's simple and the food was delicious Basic breakfast of eggs, bacon, homefries, and toast.. I've NEVER had rye toast this good ever in a restaurant. My plate was plenty, eggs perfect to order, light crunch to homefries, and omg bacon amazing NOT soggy, NOT greasy, NOT small sad pieces butt plenty of it . I'd say this was perfect !! I'm sorry we didn't meet sooner The gentleman that served us was also super cute, one of those real people who may appear grumpy but you can tell he's a gentle soul and funny too Raise a toast to an egg-cellent breakfast Thank you...perfect morning to my birthday
Amazing breakfast place, the place has a vintage style and the food is great and so are the prices, the people working there are very friendly and kind as well, can’t wait to visit again.
I order from the midway diner regularly. My food always is perfectly cooked and delicious. It’s hard to find a place that doesn’t deep fry their potatoes and cooks them through. But every time I order they are perfect. Thank you. I also love the cute messages written on the take out boxes. Prices are also reasonable.
I have yet to review this place and have been thinking about good breakfast so i thought i should leave my review! I don’t come often but anytime i do i’m always bringing it up for the next week to people cause it’s so good! When i was younger my dad used to take me here as it was his favourite and it’s still just as good ! Last time my boyfriend and i went i got blueberry pancakes, and he got eggs and bacon! Always amazing and can’t wait to be back soon. The owners are amazing and you’ll enjoy yourself the whole time you’re there !
This place has the best breakfast in Barrie hands down. Breakfast at Midway diner feels like hanging out with your favourite relatives after a night of drinking. The staff are so friendly and down to earth. The hollandaise sauce is one of the few true hollandaise sauces around and I cannot get enough of the fried mash. The prices are super reasonable for the quality level of the food. They only accept cash. There's an ATM on site though.
This place used to be a definite go to for breakfast but now it should be the last place in your list. Food was good but took a long time to come. Our 12 year old started eating the jam packets he was so hungry. Service was ok. The interior needs some attention. The heart has gone out of the diner.
I've been coming here for at least 15 years or so, and it's got the greatest food for the best prices the pictures on the walls will keep you guessing as to "who is that star?" Or, "I remember them!!" I highly recommend it.. Food: 5/5
Food quality is good and price is reasonable. Friendly customer service. We enjoyed the brunch very much. it's our first time to try this diner, will definitely be back again.
Absolutely the #1 spot for breakfast in barrie!! Only had take out skip from here but was always hot and 100% delicious I definitely recommend
