Midam Cafe

Has some pretty traditional Korean street food here, I loved their fried chicken. The rice wine is not bad either and pretty decent price point. Would definitely come back as one of my regular go to Korean places.

I visited Midam Cafe last week and I absolutely LOVE the experience. Good service. Will absolutely go there again. 1. BBQ Squid and Pork Belly 10/10 My favourite dish of the meal. Pork belly is PERFECT! It melts in your mouth and it’s super flavourful. Squid is delicious and there are a few rice cakes as well. I love the spice. HIGHKY RECOMMENDED! 2. Midam Platter With bulgoki 8/10 Go watch my last reel. You will be drooling for it. They have cheese, fried egg with rice, udon, bulgoki and corn. You have the option to choose pork sirloin or bbq squid and pork belly. It’s so satisfying to mix together. I also love the Burnt Rice at the bottom. I would say this portion is enough for 2-3 people. I find this platter on the sweeter side which I don’t prefer. I would rather have a spicy dish but it’s awesome to order this with your friends. 3. Tiramisu Shaved Ice 10/10 Love the tiramisu. The cake and ice cream have a strong coffee flavour. Shaved ice is so FLUFFY!! The best ones I’ve ever had so far!! I wanna try other flavours as well.

No wait for a walk-in on a Tuesday evening at 6:30 PM The service is welcoming and I felt comfortable dining solo. I ordered the beef brisket soy bean paste soup a little too salty, but comes with a lot of brisket, tofu, and onions - it came with rice and three side dishes sweet potato, radish kimchi, pickled seaweed the soup stayed piping hot throughout the meal. Hoping to try their BBQ and dessert next time if I’m dining with a group. The music playing was korean hip-hop and wasn’t overly loud, which I appreciate. The NBA themed decor is a nice touch. The bathroom seemed very small, one of the two stalls was out of order

If I'm going to be honest, this place is a disappointment compared to the location in Lougheed. This place has a smaller menu and it wasn't that good... $50 for what you see in the picture which is mostly carbs. The fried chicken not pictured is just pieces of boneless chicken... You get the idea, there's better elsewhere.

Super friendly and helpful staff! We got the spicy rice cake chicken set and the fried chicken was actually really crispy! Not a big fan of the truffle japchae though, was lacking truffle flavour in my opinion. Nonetheless, cute interior for basketball fans!

We had a great Korean Dinner. Very surprised with all the cool things to look at. If you love sports memorabilia and Korean food then this place is for you.

Unique spot for Korean-fusion food. Honestly, loved the flavours. I had the spicy chicken with cheese and I really enjoyed it, although it wasn’t as spicy as I anticipated it to be. Also liked the basketball themed decor, but they overdid the interior. Ambiance was good though, and the waiters were very kind! Probably will visit again sometime soon and try out their fried chicken!

This place is not a tradition cuisine of Korea but fusion style. My teenager son loves this restaurant’s theme which is NBA themed. We had some of stew with rice and noodles another day. Most popular part is Bingsoo for dessert. So soft and beautifully yum. The staff was friendly. You can try any of spicy foods! They are not really spicy.

The restaurant is not well heated. Drafts coming from the door and windows. We had to wear winter coats inside to stay warm. Tables are tiny. When the food arrived which barely fit the table, movement of the hand and arms are very constrained especially when wearing coats. Only provided 1 napkin for each person. Had to ask for more. Waitresses were not very patient especially when I was translating for my dad about the pictureless, all English menu. One of the waitresses was kind of annoyed when my dad asked her to clear out the table a bit because the table is too small. She ended up taking one of our chopsticks even when we haven’t finished eating. No free parking available on site. The food is alright but considering all factors, we probably won’t visit again. Not recommended.
