In Jul 2016, our 9 year old yellow lab, Becky, tore her right cruciate ligament. Dr Jeff diagnosed this immediately and advised of the options available. As he does not favor surgery he give us the option of an alternative procedure. It worked very well and 6 months later Becky was running and playing as usual. Then, being a lab, she tore the left cruciate ligament., Apparently this is not uncommon among these breeds. Back to the alternative procedure. Again in 6 months she is almost back to normal for a 10 year old. She can run and do her "circles", of course after about year of somewhat restricted exercise she gets tired a bit sooner than before. No surgery in my opinion is HUGE. The procedure is actually very straightforward but requires significant effort on the part of the owner. It involves cartrophen injections and laser therapy (yes I know I had not heard of this before either) along with chiropractic adjustments of her spine during the healing process. Big item, which Dr. Jeff made very clear was a very restricted exercise regime which slowly increased as she started to heal. Drs. Louise and Jeff and all the staff at the Mid-Isle Veterinary Hospital are simply fantastic, Becky loves to go the the vet (weird eh!). They all have our sincere thanks. Geoff

I took my dog to numerous vets trying to figure out his hair loss and lesions on his belly. I finally found Dr. Louise and discovered how much of his food he was allergic to. He is 100% better and I wouldn't take him anywhere else! I drive up from Victoria to Mid Isle Vet. They are the best!

Caring, informative, compassionate and incredible at what they do! I would not trust my fur-babies with anyone else. They are always genuinely interested in my dogs, patient with all of my questions and always willing to go above and beyond. I never feel rushed during an appointment and they never make me feel like any concerns or questions I have about my dogs health are important and worth discussing. Even the ladies that answer the phones are so well informed and able to give great advice or will ask one of the Dr.'s if they don't know. Thank you so much!
