Dr. Gioscia graduated from St. John's University with a Bachelor of Science Degree (Summa Cum Laude- 4.0 Index); he was the Valedictorian of the College of Science. After completing Medical School (SUNY Downstate Medical College), Dr. Gioscia entered a five year Surgical Residency program, followed by a one year Vascular Fellowship at New York Medical College. He began private practice in 1992 immediately after completing his training, and became Board Certified by the American College of Surgeons (FACS). Shortly after entering practice, he became a Founding Member of the Institute for Minimally Invasive Surgery (IMIS), where he helped pioneer three- dimentional surgery, the predecessor to robotic (DaVinci) surgery. He applied the latest advances and technologies to his practice, and has become dedicated to the comprehensive treatment of vein disorders; he is among the first 243 physicians in the U.S. who became certified in Phlebology (FACPh), the subspecialty dedicated solely to venous disorders.
In 2002, he opened a physician-owned multispecialty surgery center in White Plains, and is currently the Medical Director, on-site Manager, and Owner/ Investor. The facility is responsible for providing out-patient (ambulatory) surgical procedures in Spine Surgery, Orthopedics, General and Vascular Surgery, Ophthalmology, Otopharyngolaryngology (ENT), Podiatry, Pain Management, Urology, Gynecology, and other specialties. He is dedicated to the delivery of ambulatory health care both professionally and institutionally.
