It's a decent community grocery store. Prices are higher than other retailers, but the bakery is probably the best among the big 3.nnThis location however has some issues.nnThe deli/hot counter:nnOther stores will have pizzas prepared, especially when they have their 4 day weekend promos. This location doesn't, so it's always a 20+ minute wait.nnThe deli staff do not know how to prepare prosciutto. They left the skin on, they also cut it improperly. It wound up being used to cook and not served as an antipasto.nnThe checkout:nnThey rely far toouch on self checkout, they have great cashier's who work there, but clearly don't want to pay them to stay on. Especially with a seniors residence behind the store, you would hope that human interaction would be something to consider.

I went to Metro this morning to purchase a few items. I went to check out and noticed signs on all of the cashiers were closed. A pleasant young man employee was walking beside me, and I asked him where could check out with the cashier? He directed me to the square counter customer service desk? and told me that the lady there would help me. I stood there briefly, she had her back to me and when she turned around, she looked at me perplexed as to why I was standing there, saying “can I help you?” in a snarky tone and from a distance. I said I would like to pay for my items. She came along and told me that I could check out there, at the self checkout, and proceeded to take my basket and saying “I’m a real person you know!” and started scanning my items. I told her that I know she’s a real person. I was quite shocked at her behaviour. I mentioned that I was looking to check out my items at the other section, and saw that they were all closed I was paying cash and I know with most of those self checkouts, you can only pay with a card. She swiftly stopped scanning, said “I will do it over there then!” She grabbed the basked and hurried over to the cashier area and slammed the basket on the conveyor belt. She emptied the basket and while doing so, proceeded to tell me again that “I’m a real person and I will even bag your items!” She was sooo rude in her tone and behaviour, I was appalled! After I paid, she told me “you shouldn’t use a bank machine or buy from Amazon online because they aren’t real people!” I told her that this wasn’t about that, but I was paying with cash and needed the cashier. I told her to have a nice day, because I will not stoop so low to mirror her behaviour, all the while thinking that I will never go back to this Metro location to be treated in such a manner. Her behaviour and demeanour was very disrespectful and unprofessional.

I have gone there a bunch of different times in the last year and the food is constantly spoiled and last best before dates. my most recent experience is that I bought turkey bites on Friday march 21 I eat a couple, and then check the best before date... beginning of February. FML. It's not even like a few days it's OVER A MONTH. this is constant for this location and it's not just me my family has had the same experience. I've tried to give it more chances BC I understand sometimes things happen but time after time spoiled food for prices that are way higher than other grocery stores. Disgusting. Don't go here.

Ask an associate for help to find fresh baked Belgium waffles, she looked at me and said in bakery. I said I didn’t see them, she looked and me and shrugged and walked away. Terrible customer service.

Prices are very high but staff is helpful and kind ! Veggie’s are fresh and plentiful as are fruits just wish prices weren’t crazy and this before food prices shot way up !
