I’ve been training at Method off and on since it’s inception. I call it home now. Andrew’s teaching is top tier and continuously evolving. The environment is inclusive, the team is great, and the music diverse. Come on out!
I've been a student here for a few months now and it's been an awesome experience! Really welcoming and friendly environment from my first class and that has continued throughout. Would highly suggest to anyone!
Really great place to train! Very friendly atmosphere and tough roles. Professor Andrew and his dog are great hosts!
Highly inviting and motivating atmosphere. If you are thinking about getting into jujitsu there probably isn't a better place to start.
I met Andrew and his Method family when my children started training at his school. I was always impressed with how well he connected with both of my kids. It did not take long before both my wife and I also began to train as well. This school is an incredibly supportive place but at the same time attempts to hold you responsible for being engage in your training. There are no overly aggressive meat heads that take away for your training experience, the students push each other to be better. I highly recommend that you come in and see what it is all about.
My two children have been taking jiu jitsu here for about two years and it's been fantastic for both of them, for very different reasons. My son needs lots of exercise and often has trouble focusing so the instructor's clear expectations and engaging teaching style have been great for him. My daughter tends to be timid so it's been wonderful to watch her confidence grow in this class. It's a great group of students and the instruction is exceptional!
I dropped into Method while I was travelling in Edmonton and it was a great time. Super welcoming club with a chill vibe. Thanks for having me guys!
What else can you say other than if you want to learn proper Jiu-Jitsu and have an amazing time in doing so, then this is the place to be. It's not the biggest school but the welcoming atmosphere, excellent teaching, and awesome training partners puts it right at the top of my list! Each month has its own theme so you really get a feel for the proper positions and effective technique, that you can just as easily try to attempt in the numerous rolling rounds that are always done before the end of classes. You may not land the technique but that's a part of the beautiful challenge of Jiu-jitsu. Great for kids, great for adults, and honestly one of the best self-confidence builders ever! Update: Since going to university out of country now, I'm not at the gym as often, but whenever I'm back in the city everyone at Method always gives a warm welcome back. There is still various classes for all ages, and all types of people, and the gym still has an excellent all-inclusive environment. Seeing new faces joining the gym recently is always exciting as it gives another way to meet new people, and new friends. Since I reviewed the gym the last time, everyone has improved immensely and its incredible to see just how fast individuals can improve under Professor Andrew's instructions. Professor Andrew is still great with adapting each class to the individuals attending so they can understand his clear expectations, and instructions. Even though I don't get to the gym as often, I still find myself eager to attend classes and open mats whenever I am in the city. If you're still a little hesitant to try a class, it is understandable as trying something new can be quite scary, but I can guarantee you that you'll find trying a class at Method will alleviate whatever fear you may have had at the start and you'll enjoy yourself quite quickly.
Coming from a different school, I am so proud Method BJJ is now my place I call home. Besides the super helpful and friendly training partners, the instruction is truly something special. Professor Andrew brings his vast martial arts and movement aptitude, sense of humour, and attention to detail every day to the mats. It is encouraging to be part of such a great environment. Highly recommend!
