Best tacos in Calgary at least for me so far. This must be the first place where after I ordered, I saw cook starting preparation with raw meat instead of pre-prepared stuff being heated whole day. You can really taste the difference. Quesadillas themselves would be 5 stars, but tacos are another level! Will be coming back as long as food stays this good
Well this was an awesome surprise We tried out some of the dishes and it was as if we were back in Mexico The food was authentic Mexican Great selection of dishes on the menu, many of our favourites We will be coming back for sure Highly recommend trying it out if you’re in the area OurCrazeeAdventure
This is a review of the birria tacos only, which I obtained as takeout, and it is strangely only available on weekends. According to the person working there, they often sell out so shop early. The fresh flavours and ample lamb portion made this $20 purchase worth it. That said, however, those looking for Birria tacos commonly seen on the internet oily and fried and possibly cheesy will be disappointed. Furthermore, there were only 4 small soft tacos provided see picture. Those looking for a light and fresh Mexican lamb dish will be thrilled.
Its hard to get real mexican food out of Mexico, but I think that Mestizo is one of the few places that have it. The tacos were excellent but the enchiladas with red sauce were simply fantastic! Will definitely comeback again for more!
Mestizo catered our team holiday party with a taco bar and it was incredible! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it, arguably the best tacos in Calgary! It is also a great GF option. We ordered catering for 30 people for a corporate event. I had to reschedule due to weather and Luis was more than accommodating. When we finally held our event, the food arrive exactly on time even delivering downtown and there was more than enough to feed 30 people and have leftovers for lunch again the following day for a lucky few staff. The feedback received from all participants was excellent and everyone asked where we had ordered from. I would not hesitate to order catering from Mestizo again!
Amazing little spot for authentic Mexican food...best tacos in Calgary! My wife & I had several keto based tacos....SIMPLY AMAZING. We debated which taco brisket, chicken, pork was the best.
Best Mexican food in Calgary!! I consider myself a taco aficionado and these guys are on point. We run to their stall when Pozole is on the menu, and always look forward to any new menu items to try. So happy to have this gem in Avenida Market.
Amazing little spot for authentic Mexican food. Everything that we tried was absolutely delicious. The birria is authentic lamb birria and the taste is incredible, it really transport you to Mexico. I also love the market atmosphere.
Best tacos I have had outside of Mexico. These guy are great. Definitely recommend to anyone that wants good food
