the food is so amazing i truly feel so relaxed and content after eating. They use high quality ingredients everything is SO GOOD! I feel like i haven’t had real food like this in so long. The owner is wonderful and spoilt us. Makes you feel right at home. an incredibly authentic experience. thank you so much!
First time experiencing this restaurant and Ethiopian food and I can't wait to go back for more. If you're unsure the person working was so friendly and able to help suggest items. We ended up sharing "a taste of Ethiopia" and I believe we added a meat dish to it as well. I feel bad that I can't recommend specific dishes but it was all so good!! Fast, efficient, friendly and great food. Be careful not to fill up on injera! I couldn't help myself and ordered extra. Definitely going back again.
Fantastic little hidden gem in the heart of Osborne. The hospitality and the food is top notch! Rebka my apologies if i didnt correctly write your name down is a wonderful host. Recommend 10/10 - will be visiting again!
Excellent Ethiopian food in Osborne Village! I had been to Massawa many times when living in the area years ago and was curious to try their food since the change. It is still delicious with high quality ingredients and large portion sizes. We had the lentil samosas for an appetizer, which were served with simple mixture of finely chopped jalapeño and onion. The pastry was fried just right. Sharing the Taste of Ethiopia combo with doro tibs, keye siga wot, alecha siga wot, shiro and yesom firfir was a great way to try a variety of dishes. The standout was the doro tibs with the rosemary. I would recommend sharing a combo between two people, as the portion sizes are large with all of the injera it is served with. We opted for two glasses of wine; however, next visit I will try their Ethiopian Buna. The staff were kind, helpful and appreciative of the business. The restaurant is decorated with bright colours and has soothing music playing in the background. We look forward to returning to Mesob and trying more of their dishes!
Amazing food and great atmosphere. Authentic and good quality. The owner is very friendly and went above and beyond to bring us extra food to try that we didn't even order and that was amazing too. Thank you Rebka : I wish you the best of luck in your business.
The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was outstanding! Our server was very kind and made us feel extremely welcome right from when we sat down and until the time we left. We started with Ethiopian coffee, which is not your regular cup of coffee, but can only be described as heavenly. We ordered the Taste of Ethiopia platter to get an idea of a few of the different dishes and it was all so delicious! The meat dishes were my favourite, the spice combinations made it so flavourful, and there were tasty vegetable sides to choose from. Most dishes come with a side of injera traditional Ethiopian bread that has a spongy consistency, and you use it instead of utensils to scoop your food which contributes to the experience. For dessert we had baklava which was deliciously sweet and flaky. The prices are extremely reasonable and you get good size portions. We will definitely be coming back. 11/10 would recommend!
My first time to try Ethiopian food, and my dine in experience with them was amazing! Their service was great and you’ll feel very welcome. Their coffee was outstanding!
Came here with family and none of us had ever had Ethiopian food before. The owner was so helpful with ordering and took extra time to explain to us the food and culture. Everything we had was incredible and unlike anything we have eaten before. Everything was seasoned so well and so flavourful with nothing overly spiced or taking over. Many options for vegetarians. What a special experience to eat together as a family. Never got the owners name, but if you’re reading this you have something very special and we are grateful you are sharing your gift and family’s tradition with us. If you are in Winnipeg and looking for a special experience or just some extremely good, comforting food, you must eat here. 10/10 will be back!
This restaurant was so great. The food was excellent as was the coffee. The value is good for the high quality of food. But what really sold me was the owner sharing Ethiopian culture with us. She taught us about the mesob, about Ethiopian wedding customs, and cultural sites. She was good natured and I enjoyed getting to learn about Ethiopian while having a fabulous dinner. Really can't recommend stopping by enough.
My husband and I love Ethiopian food and we luckily found this place in Winnipeg. We ordered the vegetarian platter and every dish was superb!! The staff was very friendly, fast service, nice ambiance. If you haven’t been I highly recommend this place!! We will probably come again during our short trip in Canada.
