Great day for a picnic. Such a beautiful nature-scape. The park pavilion is clean and well maintained. As we finished cooking an Arabic family came to the pavilion to do the same. We offered the hot coals from our grill to get theirs started. It worked great. Later they came to us with offerings of coffee and biscuits and later meats. What an amazing day sharing with others.
Great little park. The toddler area could use some love as the ground is all broken in spots. But the kids enjoy coming here :
What a great place to walk, run and cycle. It was not busy at all on a nice summer evening. Definitely going back
We absolutely loved walking here bc everyone that was there that had a dog kept their dogs on a leash to be safe that we all enjoyed a nice morning walk safely ..!!
If you love nature and Water then it’s one of the best places to be visited while you are in Welland. It’s a Man Made island which developed while making the welland canal to separate the Welland river and Canal. You can see the river in the right side and Canal in the left side. Perfect place for Fishing and Water Activity. If you love kayaking or rowing then you can bring your own Kayak as the Canal is no longer use for ships . You can find small fox, Ducks and a lot of Birds and squirrels. Activities to do 1. Children’s park 2. Family Get together 3. 4 km Walking stretch 4. Cycling 5. Rowing or Kayaking 6. Fishing 7. Camping and BBQ
Even in winter this is a well maintained park for walking. Lots of birds and small critters. Playground stuff for the kids. Great for birders.
Just recently visited this park, went with my daughter and my 2 rambunctious grandsons. The playground has 2 different play structures 1 for children 1 to 5. The other 6+. What a great idea! The little ones can play without worry of being mowed over by a older child. For the young ones there where a couple of interactive areas, which engaged & kept them busy. There are benches and picnic tables close to the play area. The play area is a short walk to the water. We were greeted by a gaggle of ducks. There must have been 20 or more. The boys loved it. Parking is very close. Area very clean. No garbage in site. We will definately return.
Great trail to walk and I finally did the entire loop which is 6.1km. Perfect for the entire family. Watch out for cyclists.
Great paths both along the river, and canal. In the winter, it is great to feed the chickadees. We love this park.
I love running on the trail here, great smooth paved path
