Great hospital! I had both of my kids there. The birthing rooms are spacious, comfortable, and private. The nursing staff is very knowledgeable and so helpful. It seems that all have children so they know a lot from experience rather than just theory. I've also brought my one year old to the ER. The doctor was professional, very caring, and did a great job handling a toddler and me (the mother who was crying more than the hurt child).

We came in because my child was throwing up. No tests done. Just a little pill for the throwing up and Pedialyte. We were there for 45 minutes. Most of that time were alone in the room. The bill was OVER $1000!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME???!!! These folks are greedy SOBs! Never again!!!!

My daughter was misdiagnosed 2 times. Both times they said she had an ear infection when her primary doctor said she did not. Also when I was 34 weeks pregnant I went in for abdominal pain. Thiessen told me it was gas and to walk it off. I went to my OB and was diagnosed with HELLP syndrome and was rushed in for an emergency csection.

With the prominence of pain killers I am wondering if mercy hospital has a protocol for treating surgery patients who would come in while being on the popular treatment drug Suboxone which renders a user unable to feel the effects of narcotics. I was one of the unfortunate ones who suffered a surgery while on the fullest dose offerd. while i'm at it I don't think it was very appropriate to be asked if I wanted a male surgon,or a female I said the best one, and he announced that I wanted a male. the female Dr. who was present ended up taking me because the male became unavailable. After surgery she refused to follow the protocol.
