Mello Velo Cafe

Cafe/bar/eatery inside of a bike shop. Cool specialized concept. I came for the coffee and pastries and my review is based on that: - friendly service - hipster vibe - spacious indoor and quaint outdoor seating - cold brew was pretty good . - pastry apple walnut muffin did not taste fresh tasted refrigerated and sitting there for a few days - average pricing Would come back for coffee, not for pastries

Love this place for lunch! Hearty and flavorful vegetarian and/or vegan options which is sometimes a hard thing to execute. The vegan breakfast sandwich was not too dry either, which is another common problem I run into with vegan meat substitution when I’m dining out. The star of the show was the fried Brussels & halloumi dish, packed with good seasoning and the Brussel sprouts are excellently crispy. Cafe has an impressive selection of different drinks to choose, from coffee, to tea, even smoothies and also wine, beer and cocktails! Quick and friendly service as well, what a nice little spot!

Amazing group of people that work here in the shop AND their cafe. Steve went above and beyond with repairing my bike and gave me a great tour of their shop. I’d definitely recommend this place for any of your bike needs! Thanks again Steve! -Mo

Honestly, these guys went above and beyond to help make sure my experience was great. I would give 6 stars if I could. All of the people working today were obviously very knowledgeable about the bikes, and cared about what they were doing. They even went out of their way to help someone get the bike, which they clearly use as their primary form of transportation, fixed last minute so that the person wasn't without it for the weekend. If you like biking, even if it's just casually, these guys are the ones to go to. Skip the others on your list.

I had been wanting to visit Mello Vello for quite some time and finally found an afternoon to taste the amazing food at the cafe. EVERYTHING was delicious!! The Blueberry BasilMargarita was so smooth and refreshing. The Ham & Pear Quesadilla was filled with flavor, warm and sweetness with a kick of savory in every bite. My husband had the High Wheeler. He devoured every bite. Bold but subtle cajun-spice with a balance of cheddar and bacon to calm the the spicy chicken. The Hummingbird cake is a must have for those who enjoy a balance of banana spice cake with a cream cheese frost so smooth you will want another piece. Every bite had a note of pineapple and coconut. Makes you feel like you're away in the Caribbean. Can't wait to go back and try something new!

Great shop with friendly service. I started going to Steve's shop in 2019. Good selection of parts and great willingness to genuinely help out fellow bikers. I was sad to see the restaurant side close.

Best bike shop in CNY! The staff is always super helpful and they really know their stuff. The shop has a great selection of bikes and parts and if they don't have it they have always ordered it for me. I would never trust anyone else with my bike!

Love the cafe! Plenty of choices of drinks and baked goods. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. The bathrooms very clean and fresh smelling

Had dinner here last night 8/10/18. Food and vibe was excellent with a wonderful staff to boot. Wife and I ordered the Mac n cheese to share as an app. It was perfect. Not too heavy, great flavor. She ordered a sandwich w bacon and pear and I got the bahn mi. It was all delicious. The bahn mi was a touch soggy on the bottom, it was the only criticism I have of the whole place. Going back for sure. Wonderful dinner, so glad we stopped here. Fix the wet bottom bread on the bahn mi and I will order one on the regular.

Great selection of brews and even better menu. The grain bowl with lamb meatballs was a great mix of traditional grains and roasted veggies. Butternut Squash Mac and Cheese was absolutely delicious.Some excellent comfort food. Service was prompt and friendly. Breakfast is served all day and a great vegan selection.
