I've bought many bikes, new and used, from big stores and small stores. And getting service that is this high quality is very rare and difficult. The quality, price, installation and general advice was remarkable. I will only come here from now on. I am so glad I discovered this place. I bought a super nice 2nd hand bike that was much lighter and far better than a new one I purchased at Decathlon. Steve installed an anti-theft mechanism for the tires and gave me some great general knowledge about bikes.
Great bicycle store/workshop. Steve is very friendly and knowledgeable, the maintenance service is very well done. The prices are also good.

Steve is the man. Honest, fair, and extremely passionate about his craft. He has a dream of a fixed gear cycle, and that's exactly what I want to see as a fellow fixed gear rider: the owner of the shop is also a customer. Speedy service since I caught him as most of Montreal embarked on vacation, but he didn't choose to slack off, instead returned my fully tuned up cycle with a new chain within 48 hrs. He even called me AS he was working on my cycle to let me know about an aesthetic defect that would not affect the function but he could take care of if I wanted, then he listed the pricing. I felt so taken care of. Some of the best service I've received from any shop of any kind.
Amazing service! I broke my derailleur going up Robert Bourassa towards Rene Levesque and had to get it replaced. Folks at Mécanocycle were super helpful, friendly, and fast. Will definitely be my go-to place and would recommend to any bikers in the area.
Not very customer friendly. The guy got mad because I asked for my receipt. He was super rude. I have the right to say no if I don’t like the price of a service. Never coming back again. Too bad, the store is nice and it’s a good location. It seems that they have a lot of things in stock as well. Just a problem of customer service and lack of proper education.
All possible bicycle needs at one super friendly stop! Steve really is the BEST bicycle mechanic in Montreal. I've been a Mécanocycle customer for a decade now and have always been completely satisfied with both sales and service. Great work as always!
I get it, you're overworked, demand for bikes has exploded and a lot of parts are out of stock. But that doesn't mean you need to treat people so poorly. I went to this bike shop twice in the past few weeks and both times the mechanic Steve told me he was busy and I should just leave. The first time, all I wanted to do was pump up my tires. He said there was a pump outside but it didn't have the adapter for a presta valve. He said I could pay for a full tune up and he would pump my tires as part of it. When I asked about buying a pump, he said he only had top of the line 150 dollar ones... I declined and went elsewhere. Fast forward to today, I snapped my chain and stopped in to see if he could help. He asked if I had an appointment, I said no. He said you have to call and make one. I said I'm here now... He said I'm busy so I'm going to keep working. Didn't stop to ask what was wrong with the bike or if I wanted to make an appointment later on, just ignored me. Great customer service, dude. My old bike had close to a thousand dollars of repairs done here but I won't be going back and I wouldn't recommend anyone else go here either.
I was directly told what was wrong with my bike and it got fixed quickly for a more than a reasonable price. The staff was very welcoming too!
