My favourite place Love this store. So much variety in equipment and knowledgeable and helpful staff. I like that they are inclusive and environmentally friendly. A lot of choices for camping and hiking

Ever since they sold, the experience is less than stellar. Bought a tent for family camping - we set it up in the backyard to test it and it leaked with the first rainfall. Upon researching it was a frequent issue with the tent; I guess that's why it was on liquidation. When I brought it back, I was told because it was "used" that it wasn't returnable. The manager accepted the return under the premise that they would do a warranty return on their end. Their return policy isn't updated on the website where it says they'll take almost anything back. They do however say they can refuse whatever they like and its final.. so I guess there's that. I won't be shopping here anymore.

I love this place for freeze dry meals. They have good prices and a big choice of flavors. Lots of camping gear as well. From big to small items like containers and foldable forks. I'm removing a star because their prices are high and they force you to register to their program because they're a co-op. Just be a normal store! No plus size section on their clothing department. They need to be more inclusive.

Not impressed. I couldn't find what I was looking for but what bother me.more is when you are looking to buy something and the CSR pushes you away and do not wait bcs they have a client ...so what are u?!; I didn't buy anything such an attitude ..and I was all anxious to go and see a MEC..puhh

They don't have anything that you need in store..what's the point of having a store if it's only available online?

The staff is super helpful every time. They have better selection at the Marché-Central location though. Also, it irked me to see all those 50 year MEC anniversary merch when our proud Canadian MEC coop just got bought out by an american capitlist venture. At least their environmental goals are still on track.

Nice to have a Mountain Equipment Co-op on the South Shore. I've been a member since 1986. This store is well located, but smaller than other MEC stores. They do a good job of arranging inventory to maximize selection - clothing is in double racks, but the range of goods is limited in some departments. MEC offers free delivery online delivered to the store, so that's handy for large items. Good products, good quality.

As a long time MEC Cool member I am very disappointed in this store. I have lived all over Canada and have had great service from MEC in every other store I've been. MEC is my go to gear store and I often promote it to friends and family. Sadly, this store will be excluded from my recommendations from now on. I just left the store with a backpack that has started disintigrating. The clerk told me it wasn't covered under warranty. She was standing right in front of the store's warranty policy which is the reason I am a MEC member. This is the THIRD time I've had this experience at this location and have never had any other store refuse my warranty claims?!? I'm clearly not abusing the policy. I'm just looking for the warranty to be upheld. Very poor customer service. A disgrace to the MEC name. I am boycotting this location and suggest you do the same!!

Always friendly and mostly helpful staff in the bicycle department but it's a shame that MEC prefers to hire people without a great deal of experience. Very little experience = very little knowledge, and that's not someone I want repairing my bicycle or a Stromer I'm considering purchasing. I will save my big ticket purchases at a place that inspires confidence.
