Absolutely the best place to get meat pies in Edmonton. The Steak and Cheese is to die for. The Chicken Pot Pie is the best comfort food ever and if you are feeling spicy the Jamaican Patty is perfect. They are located upstairs at the Edmonton Downtown Farmers Market. They have an area you can sit with your family and enjoy a meal. If you can’t stay they also sell frozen and chilled pies that you can take home for your family to enjoy.
Meat Street Pies with specialism in handcrafted pies and pasties with gluten free and vegetarian options is exceptional and compares incredibly well to Little Jack's Pies in the Farmers Market in Yeg now closed! Staff friendly and we had the special vegetarian quiche which was totally wholesome and yummy with spinach and greens - huge portion that can easily be shared and hot sauce to add makes it awesome.
My goal is to try every single Savoury pie available. To the owner, reheating at home is not the same as eating fresh onsite at the farmers market, but it is still excellent. For the next pie, I will let it sit until room temp inside and then reheat it in the air fry. I recently bought the steak & kidney pie, the Jamaican Patty, and the Steak and Cheese. Jamaican Pattie is not of the traditional shell, but it is a different experience in a good way. Yum!!
We picked up our first Meat Street Pies this past weekend at the Downtown Farmers Market - and reheated as per instructions. Really awesome product - crust is perfectly flaky and not heavy feeling - filling was super tasty and good amount of meat. We had a laugh with the staff where we bought them as well making this a great food experience ! Well done and keep up the great work.
If I could give them minus stars, I definitely would!! My daughter brought over a peach and mango pie for Dad’s birthday and it was just SUPER SUPER GROSS! First of all, the crust was burnt on the bottom and part of the top. One would naturally expect the pie crust to be fully cooked because of the burn but, when I started cutting portions, the crust/dough was raw inside yet burnt top and bottom. It was tasteless! Only 3/6 guests wanted to try this gross pie and all three guests hated the pie —all three portions went into the green garbage food scraps bin! What a waste of my daughter’s hard earned money! Nobody wanted to take the rest of the pie home— guess where it ended up? I would definitely not recommend this business or their pies! Save your money or spend it elsewhere!
Absolutely delicious!! I had the Jamaican pie and I have not tasted anything so heavenly in my life. Will come back again.
Thea and co work magic to create the best pies I have ever had. Their steak and cheese pie is one of the best things I've eaten in my life, and any time I bring it to potlucks it gets rave reviews. Their location at the Downtown Farmer's Market serves a selection of frozen, chilled and heated pies and the quality is consistently excellent on all three. The filling is flavorful and very generous, and the pastry is flaky and tender. The chicken pot pie, steak and ale, tourtiere and Melton Mowbray are also fabulous. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Oh. My. Goodness. Not only is the food positively delicious, but the people feel like family. I just can't wait to share with them again! Five stars does not do Meat Street Pies justice...
Meat Street Pies staff are not indigenous friendly. They were extremely rude today to a 15 year old performer, actually interrupting her while she was performing. The young lady they did this too was an Enoch Cree member, honour student at Jasper Place High School who had played at several festivals around Western Canada. The lady came right up in front of her while she was actually singing a song instead of being polite and waiting for the song to be over. Later my daughter, who was so angered by her rudeness cried. No one else complained in fact we had several positive comments about her performance and even people posting her on line while she performed. I would never go to a business that is clearly so rude. Not saying racist but........
I have enjoyed a number of your pies.....discovered you when I was working at a booth at the Butterdome couple years ago. So glad I bought extras to bring home and freeze. My kids discovered you at the Downtown Market and love your goodies too.
