We had a great night at MEAT! They don't usually sit reservations outside, but we snagged a table and ordered some solid cocktails.nOur spread ended up being Beef Ribs, Brisket, Andouille Sausage, the Chicken Special, Mac & Cheese, Carrot Special, and Dill Pickle Potato Salad. We then shared the Pecan Pie which was very sweet, but excellent.nOverall, great food. The highlight were the Beef Ribs amazing, Carrots, Potato Salad, and Chicken. BBQ Sausage is always hit and miss, but the Andouille was moist, but not gummy! However, the Brisket was the most dry and lackluster I've had in a long time! The Mac & Cheese also needed a bit more cheese or sauce but still yummy.nService was great and speedy without rushing you out the door. 4.5/5!!!
It has been a while since we had been to MEAT for a meal and my wife decided that this was where she wanted to go for her Mother’s Day dinner.nnI had booked a resevation for 6pm and when we got there we realized I had accidentally booked it for the next day, but no issues, they had some room and we got a spot out on the patio, perfect! Thank you MEAT hosts for getting us in after realizing my blunder.nnOur server was Jaime and she was absolutely amazing and just made the experience even better.nnWe started off ordering some beverages, my wife got a Bourbon Peach Tea and it is just.. Wow! So good. Kiddo got a Housemade Rosemary Peach Sweet Iced Tea, also very delicious. I got a MEAT Ceasar to start and it was awesome! Through the meal I decided to get a 2nd ceasar but this time I got the Brisket-Washed Bourbon Ceasar that comes with a piece of MEAT beef jerky and that was an incredible ceasar.nnAs for our food, we order 1/2 pound of Carolina Pulled Pork, 1/2 pound of Burnt Ends, Half Rack of Pork Ribs, small Cajun Fries, Coleslaw and Cornbread Skillet w/ Honey Butter and every thing was out of the park delicious. I can’t pick a favorite because they were all so darn good. No regrets with our choices.nnFor dessert, i ordered Pecan Pie that comes with Vanilla Ice Cream and Caramel Sauce and pecan pie is one of my favorite pies so I was definitely curious how it was going to taste. Folks, this was an incredible pecan pie, short of licking the plate, there was barely anything left on that plate it was scraped clean. Bravo!nnOne thing is for sure, we will not wait so long to come back next time. Thank you to the MEAT team for the incredible meal, we will recommend you guys to anyone looking for some Barbecue and a great night out. And again to Jaime, our server, thank you again for making this such a great experience.
I had the brisket, burnt ends brisket, fried chicken thighs. Dill pickle, Cajun fries with dip and gravy. All the meats were fantastic. The gravy was not good - bland, no flavour. The fries were very tasty. For dessert- pecan pie, which I recommend. Price is on the higher side.
I just have to say, I am beyond thrilled with the customer service at this shop. They helped me get exactly what I needed—the miniature horse meat and the starfish meat—and they were so knowledgeable and kind throughout the whole process. I can already picture how this miniature horse meat will impress everyone at the family cookout, and the starfish is going to make such a unique dish. I couldn’t be happier—this place is top-notch!
Great BBQ at very reasonable prices. Lots of perennial favourites as well as some new stuff they seem to rotate through, but all is delicious. The giant pick is definitely worth the $2 and is actually a standout. Friendly service and tons of seating. I come here every time I visit Edmonton.
